Did you *clean* your library after you removed the source folders? An update won't clean....

I have the latest version installed on spmc and when i go to skin setting-configure shorcuts-edit shortcut menus- for example in music-background- i can choose random albums. But i also have latest kodi 17.1, and all the skin helper option for background (and thumbnails) are not in the list of options. There are only the regular .jpg or .png. Let me know if you need more details.
It's really difficult to answer questions like this without a picture to show just what you are doing. However, it may be that you are not looking in the right places for the widgets you seek. Did you try the 'default widgets->skin helper service widgets' widget classes?

I am having an issue with widgets. I can use TV show favorites no issues but for some reason I cannot do Movie favorites as a widget. I have multiple movies favorited but the widget doesn't display anything.

I think it's Skin Settings - Background Settings - Background overlay Texture - none.

Hmmm, well that "unwatched movies" node is actually meant to use as widget and widgets are by default limited to a specific amount of items.
There are however ways to work around that:

1) Globally set the number of items for widget to a higher number (can impact performance):
Skin Settings - Supported Addons - Skin Helper Widgets ---> Configure the item limit.

2) Manually change the path for the unwatched node to grab more items. Only possible for menu items, not for widgets.
Skin settings --> Configure menu shortcuts --> Select the Unwatched Movies shortcut --> Press Change Action
--> Select custom to manually edit the adress.
Add this at the end of the address: &limit=999

Worked perfect. Thank you.

This worked for me as well, thanks!

Is there a similar parameter to add for sorting by title/sort title?

I noticed that these nodes sort in a way that includes the articles (like "the"). If you click "Unwatched" it'll show you all your unwatched movies, but "Batman Begins" will be at the top in the Bs (as expected), while "The Dark Knight" is placed in the Ts, after Star Wars and Star Trek.

I took a shot in the dark and tried stuff like &sort=sorttitle, but no luck. I also couldn't piece it together from the wiki pages:

https://github.com/marcelveldt/script.sk...er.widgets
https://github.com/marcelveldt/script.sk...rvice/wiki

And even a forum post or two like:

http://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid=...pid2506387

It's also not possible to force the sorting via the side panel, since the sorting option is greyed out and says "Default".

I'm new to Kodi and customizing the settings for skins (Titan is excellent, thank you very much), so apologies if I missed something obvious. But I did try to search the forum and Google first.

I'm still on Jarvis. Does the Krypton version have the colored tags and boxes that match the color of the thumb or poster art - like Emby does it?

Big vertical modern layout's header overlaps with the top item on the main menu. Maybe have an option to drop the main menu down below the header or adjust the information on the header towards the right and out from under the main menu text.

Also, any chance of seeing better submenu handling in the big vertical modern layout? Personally, I think having the submenu open on a left press instead of a right press would be a good start. It would also be more aesthetically pleasing if the submenu didn't open out on top of the widgets, or if the widgets and main menu blurred out while the submenu is open.

Thanks.

Tried removing the source, cleaned the library and added the source back again. The rating is still shown as 1-5 points / stars. I also tried different sources for rating but no luck either.

I can't reproduce your problem. The rating system seems to work fine for me. I can set a rating in either Estuary or Titan and the rating can be seen in both skins just fine. 1-5 stars with increments of 1/2 a star (in titan's representation) for a numerical rating of 1-10. Perhaps some pictures of what you are seeing would help.

PS. I'm assuming you don't have old/Jarvis created *.nfo files in your media collection. And your are not trying to 'preserve' ratings from Jarvis to Krypton -- as I don't think that would work without re-writing all your *.nfo files.....

There are no .nfo files in my music folders, only the actual song files and cover.jpg.

I don't see a problem here.... the rating is 4 and the number of stars is 2 -- all good.

I don't have quite the same options selected, but here is a similar example where the song is rated 9 and the stars are 4.5.

Well, I'd expect Highway to Hell score better than 4/10 so I checked it at musicbrainz.org. The average rating there is 4,5/5.

As far as I know these ratings are entirely custom to your library. They are not obtained from anywhere as can be the case with movies and tv shows. You can embed the ratings in the ID tags and the scanner has some ability to consume them -- but I think there are tons of challenges with incompatibility between ratings systems (e.g. WMP, MediMonkey, etc.). In any case, I don't think this is a skin related issue.
