Beta Spotify for Kodi
(2017-07-14, 07:27)theycallmecheese Wrote: (LibreElec Krypton, RasPi 3, addon v1.1.30)
Tracks play again pretty reliably with 1.1.31 but eventually begin to stutter and then stop playing after a while. This log was taken while the playback was stuttering.

EDIT: whoa wait it auto updated to 1.1.32 while i was making this post

Agreed, updated to 1.1.31 and began to play tracks from a random Spotify playlist very well at the start, then they began to stutter and skip back and forwards and sound disappeared completely. So the addon became unusable Sad

Not yet tested the later 1.1.32 update yet using S905X 16/2GB system using LibreElec 8. Infact there is no 1.1.32 update in the repo today? Last update is 1.1.31?

Marcel. 1.1.33 running solid here on LibreElec X86 8.0.2. Did not test "connect", but streaming appears to be pretty solid (1.1.32 was solid as well). Great work! What is your own personal system (Hardware/OS) that you use on a daily basis?

In the meanwhile I've contacted one of the Kodi devs about the lockup issue I'm running into with the new implementation.
The old implementation had that same issue but it only happened sometimes.

Thanks! That got me back to rock solid playback on my NUC N3050 w/Libreelec 8.02. Wife & kids are happy and dancing again. Kudos sir, kudos.

OK, great. There will be another update later today which will fix a performance issue.

I recently switched from Intel NUC to Nvidia Shield for my httpc's.
As test and development machines I have Windows and Linux.
My workstation is MacOs.

OK, in the meanwhile the new version will get in shape so you can switch once it's stable enough.
Remember that you will have to switch from the old to the new because Spotify is pulling the plug on that old lib spotify SDK.

I'll take a look later today. My own httpc's are Shields too.
Remember that local playback will not be possible on Android. The Spotify add-on will always control another connect player.
So, you'll have to make sure that the Spotify app is installed on your Android device.

1.1.33 isn't working for me - Kodi 16.1 on Windows 7 (Intel NUC).

Navigation works fine, playback appears to work fine but has no sound. The addon says "Playback device: local playback on this device" and doesn't offer any options if I try to change the playback device (not even local device - I just get an empty list of options with only ".." as a selectable option).

Debug log: https://pastebin.com/Pix3Ru3u

Hope this helps! Fantastic addon, many thanks for all your efforts to keep this working.

Please send me a full log, not just a portion.

I've posted a new version on the repo (v 1.1.34).
This version is a lot more stable and resource friendly.

Also good news about the lockup issue, one of the Kodi devs, FernetMenta, helped out and solved the issue.
I've tested the fix today on a manual compiled Kodi and it was working great.

The playback of the Spotify Connect player on Android devices needs more work, I'll look at this within a few days,
In the meanwhile I've added the possibility that you can use another Kodi player in your network as a host/server for the Spotify playback on android devices.

v 1.1.34 works very well on my LibreElec S905 box, Kodi 17.3
I have been playing with your spotify addon versions the last days, it always ended stuttering after playing a few songs.
This one works fine, thanks !

Just want to report that I've been running 1.1.34 today and it's pretty solid. Spotify connect is disabled and audio cache is enabled. Hung on one track after install but after reboot it's been stable.

OK, great! The sporadic hangup will also be fixed in Kodi itself soon.

Can you send me your full Kodi logfile please ?
Did you install the add-on from my repo ?
What do you have selected as playback device ?

Oh ok, sorry did not realize that. Will just stick to the android tv Spotify app then. Thanks anyway for your work.
