Hmmm, ignore my previous message. You are in fact running the beta version but on an unsupported OS as it seems.
Please test with Libreelec which should work fine.

I have the feeling this is related to weak internet connection. Could that be?

I will post an updated version of the add-on on my repo later today. Please test if that fixes the issue as it has an updated version of the Spotty/Librespot binary included.

Yes I have but as far as I know it's not okay to include binaries in an add-on for the official repo.
Unless you're willing to accept that ;-)

- Version of the add-on (installed with the repo?)
- Kodi logfile

Hello!

Thank You for Your fast reply!
I am running a Raspbian Jessie with Kodi 17.3
Like You said - already on Your REPo :-)
I thought it may be permission related issue but I changed them to 777 - without success

Best regards,
Lucas

- M8S (tv-box)
- Android Kitkat, Kodi 16 (Jarvis)
- Addon is build 42 last time I checked (it's on auto update), this is the latest right?
- I'm unable to give you the log at this time since I'm not at home. But last time I checked there was no Spotify errors in it.

I tested the addon again a couple of days ago and it wouldn't let me login. Saying something like "no credentials or invalid credentials". The sends me to the settings to enter my credentials (wich are already there). I've re-entered them numerous times and they work correctly in the app on other devices. I have a Premium account.

I'm trying to use spotify on 17.4 Git:20170822-7fc6da0). Platform: Windows NT x86 32-bit.
I always get invalid credentials message.

Have tried it on S905X using LE 17.3 with the same result.

Any ideas? Thanks

Hello,

Just wanted to let You know that I made a huge step forward.
Since my /homedir/.kodi was a symbolic link to a directory on an external NTFS drive (my Database folder is already 1GB Undecided ) I have decided to delete link and bring back .kodi DIR to my SD card (for testing) and...

It worked! This is how I got rid of mentioned above "operation not permitted" error. Seems that for wherever defined security reasons scripts were unable to run while being on an external drive...

Huge smile on my face disappeared when I tried to browse - everything is empty, just like mentioned by Mowa:

Thing is, my errors are now different:

Oh well, it's indeed not recommended to store your addons or addon_data on external location with symbolic links as that will get you in all kinds of trouble. Lot's of Kodi addons don't like that approach.
Maybe you should create symbolic links only for the folders which make sense, like for example the database and the thumbnails folder.

Wild guess but I think you have the spotipy module installed on your system, this clashes with the version of spotipy I included with the add-on (which contains a few fixes I did not yet send upstream).

pip uninstall spotipy should do the trick for you (I hope).

In the meanwhile I'll take a look if I can fix this on my end

Did you notice the warning about Facebook accounts ?
If you're using a Facebook account, you'll have to create a device password (you can do that in your spotify account details).
After that, you can login with your spotify account name (will be some number) and the password you've chosen.

Can you please recreate the log but now with Kodi debug logging enabled ?
I see an error in your log but without the debug option I miss some stuff I need to further investigate the issue.

Note: On Android, no local playback is available (meaning the kodi player will play the spotify content). It is however able to control the Spotify android app with Spotify Connect.

Question: Do you have a browser installed on your Android box ? Because local playback is not available it can not use a direct connection to authenticate you with username and password and will use the "web flow" instead. In that case it will ask you to authenticate the app in the browser just once. Just install the Chrome browser with the Play store and you should be fine.
