This is in relation to this issue where you said "With some codecs (Xvid) are forward and rewind broken completely - frozen picture and sound." yet your log is for an h264 video. So it's not just Xvid?

Strange nobody else is reporting this. Can you try with default settings in case there is some setting in your environment causing the problem (because I can't reproduce)?

Maybe one of the developers knows what this means:

Are you connecting over WiFi or wired connection?

I have the same Problems with all Files (all Codecs) forward and rewind sound have delay 2 - 3 seconds, all Builds after #909 inclusive #917

That's not the same issue @WaVe_99 is reporting, he's saying "frozen picture and sound.", not audio delayed 2-3 seconds.

Of course @WaVe_99 could just be describing the problem incorrectly, which only makes it harder to solve.

@WaVe_99 can you confirm what the problem is, and what files it affects.

Also @pacoma2610 please provide a debug log.

Im getting the same 'timeout adding data to renderer' error with online content such as youtube mp4/dash (not inputstream adaptive related).

Edit: updated to the latest version and of course its working now. :>

Edit2: weird after playing around a bit the error occurs again. it seems that its shortly working after reboot and then later fails again.

Here is the log again (see 19:01:35):
https://www.dropbox.com/s/10m12kwade78mou/kodi.log?dl=0

Edit3:
Im not quite sure but i think i found the issue and can reproduce it.
It always happened when idling for a while and the time has always been the time ive set for 'keep audio device alive'.
So turning it off, playback will always fail.

The Kodi Debug Log http://sprunge.us/KNER
Hi,

I'm on 916 (previously on LE 8.1.1) and I believe I'm experiencing same/similar issue as mentionned above.
If "Sync Playback to Display" is selected then seek jumps while playing video result in complete playback freeze. Stopping playback is the only option.
If "Sync Playback to Display" is NOT selected, seek jumps, RWD, FWD, are working perfectly, only issue is there is no sound for approx 2 sec after each jump. I feel like this is time needed to resync audio.

log file with few seeks with sync to display off and then on (freeze) :
https://pastebin.com/4A684Ksp

Worth mentionning that everything else I tested for my limited use was working as expected.

Hi Milhouse, cause i tested just SOME of videos H264 and they works fine, Xvid not - i tested some parts of MASH series (xvid). This H264 video and next H264 stream(From TVPrima at log) i found later... I dont have any problems with most of my H264 videos... And yes, video and audio completely stops, until i stop the playing.... I am connected with wired connection on fine gigabit router - speed between my NAS and NUC is about 900mbit all the time... I will do clean install again, but I think I have clean install and rebuild library about month ago on some 08.. build...

Same here, no difference with sync to display...

I'm not sure if this belongs here, but the Amazon Prime addon linked in post #1 does not work for tv shows on #0917. It can search for shows, but once selecting a show and viewing seasons, images and text are lost. Within seasons, there are no episodes to select.

It used to work on earlier versions of the nightly builds. I haven't used the addon in a couple weeks. My best guess was around #0904 it was still working. I can downgrade and check if it would be helpful.

Milhouse, for me its solved. I did "factory reset" and did step after step with settings. The problem causes this at settings - SETTINGS/SYSTEM/AUDIO(or sound, i have LE with another language) and there is "keep sound device alive". I did not have this checked, at 0909 and lower this makes no difference, but at 0910 and higher release causes the problem with FF and rewind etc. It does not makes sense to me, but so it is. For others with issues - try it please :-) For me this works.

You should report it on the appropriate github, presumably the Amazon API/web site has changed sufficiently to break the addon(s).

I just tested build #0819 (random build, 30 days ago) and the plugin.video.prime_instant is broken there as it is with #0917.

Good to know, thanks - I can confirm that disabling "Keep audio device alive" really screws up seeking in the latest #0918 build (video freezes, no sound). Set it to 1 minute, and the problem disappears - seeking is working perfectly.

Hopefully it can be fixed in future.
