(2017-09-13, 22:30)linkinsoldier Wrote: I found issues with Kodi crashing or freezing during inpupstream playback. This sporadically happens when the stream buffers and I press stop:

Here is a crash (reboot): https://pastebin.com/qFuUabKS
and here is a freeze (time keeps saying 21:55, but even after 20 minutes no update of the screen). I sshed and rebooted: *edit: i failed to upload it to pastebin .. log has about 10 Mb - any other suggestions for uploading other than pastebin? PN / email?

I use build #911 but I am not sure when this started (going back to #907 and #909 I had the same behaviour). Issue happened during watching episode 4 of jessica jones on netflix.
Did anybody find anything about this or should I try anything else for you?

@popcornmix: do you know this issue with streams?

@linkinsoldier seems for me that the debug log does not match in any way to the text.
a.) its dazn stream, b.) no 21:55 in the log, and c.) no debug logging activated.
@peak3d I have two logs, I think one was dazn, one was Netflix. Unfortunately it was a while ago and the second one is too big for pastebin. Can I send both to you via pn on kodinerds?

The second one definitely is with debug logging I think on the first one I only enabled it after the boot
@linkinsoldier if its too big for pastebinit, pls. upload to dropbox or similiar ad share the link
If you're unsure about credentials in the log, pls. provide the link via PM.
Hi,

since some last builds kodi crashes on videos watches.
The video runs about 10min and just stand still, sometimes starts kodi afterwards but not always.
this happens with different videos.

Sounds like the same bug I just uploaded the log files for! Although dazn worked yesterday for about 4 hours with build #916.

Does this only affect omxplayer or MMAL too?
Really unless you are on Pi0/Pi1 you shouldn't be using omxplayer.
(feel free to report issues - I'll fix what I can but MMAL is the way forward on raspberry pi).

It is only with OMX, MMAL switching seems fine.

Im using a RPi3 but still find MMAL keeps pausing the video im playing whenever I moved around the menus.
I have a big movies database, and if I enter it while using MMAL the video im watching can pause for up to 5 secs while kodi enters the movie library, this doesnt happen with OMX, thats the only reason i go with OMX..
I'd prefer to use MMAL as it seems better quality, but the pause bugs me to much... Big Grin

Best Regards

Bucky

I have just the same problem he describes. Video won't play for some seconds when switching from fullscreen video to any menu while audio still plays. With OMX it's not pausing at all, only MMAL. Using RPi3.

@popcornmix: Is there any way to fix that?

As usual identifying the first build with the problem would be useful for tracking it down.
The crash log doesn't have any useful info in (a debug enabled build may provide more information).

This is a way of using kodi I've never understood.
If I no longer want to watch the current video and switch to a new video I press stop, I navigate to new video and play it - everything is smooth.
I assume you are putting video into background and then navigating?
Browsing a large movie database does take 100% cpu for small periods of time, and if playing video as well something has to give.
Ideally the browsing would just get more sluggish and the video would continue but kodi doesn't give higher priority to video threads so that isn't guaranteed.

First question - has the behaviour ever been better in past builds?

Thanks you for your special build. If tested Sundtek USB DVB-C tuner and Hyperion Ambilight which is connected via GPIO.
Both are working fine for the moment.
Thanks @herrmeier01!
