Intel Apollo Lake
I can’t seem to find an easy way to image an install directly to USB, but that’s not surprising.

Download an Image, e.g. http://chewitt.libreelec.tv/samples/8.2/...2.0.img.gz gunzip it, dd it to usb stick. Mount the usb stick and replace KERNEL / SYSTEM / KERNEL.MD5 / SYSTEM.MD5 with those from latest Millhouse .tar

afterwards select "live" when booting.

- Milhouse 4.11.x based builds: HBR works BUT it fails with 23.976 fps
- Milhouse latest 9.0 version based on 4.13.2 - everything works including refreshrate switching

Quite similar results. My experience was that with 4.11.x Milhouse build HBR failed with anything equal or less than 30 fps. I also tried Escalade's version with 4.13.2 and there I had working HBR with refresh rate switching. However, sound didn't work in the UI before I played the first video.

I'd like to try the 9.0 build, can you link me to the exact build you used? Thanks.

Thanks again for your help, Fritsch.

It's still not working properly, with all the settings correct just like before. I'm running from the USB drive that I created with your instructions.
Logfile: https://paste.ubuntu.com/25585195/

By the way, I'm sure you don't remember, but you told me about the NUC many many months ago, possibly even last year. I wasn't even aware of it, and because you told me about it, I ended up buying one and I love it. Smile

To be clear, I am getting no audio whatsoever through my AVR.

OK this is looking suspiciously like the same version...grrrrr.

That's the LibreELEC 8.2 release.

1. Boot your LibreELEC USB memory stick
2. Boot into "run" mode (this uses the available storage on the USB memory stick)
3. Copy the latest LE9 tar file into the Update folder on the LE client (this copies it to the USB memory stick)
4. Reboot and boot into "run" mode once more to complete the upgrade
5. After the upgrade is complete you will be booting the latest LE9 release from the USB memory stick
6. Use "live" or "run" mode as necessary

The first time I booted from the memory stick, it allowed me to choose live. Now, I've formatted the stick 8-10 times (EXT4), and no matter how many times I retry, and choose the memory stick from my boot menu, it just pays no attention and jumps to my dual-boot screen (EasyBCD). I guess I'm just going to upgrade my main Kodi installation.I just backed it up using LibreELEC's backup tool.... So hopefully it's no big deal. idk what to do anymore. I've been working on this for 8 hours (today's my day off) and I'm supposed to meet a friend for lunch in 4 hours. So tired....but I hate leaving things unfinished.

Installed it directly to my NUC. Passthrough still doesn't work. 8 hours spent. I have to go to sleep and follow up on this later.

@Millhouse: please include - at least in your v9 - this commit: https://github.com/FernetMenta/kodi-agil...b529067aee

Before that the pause bursts (used at start of video) might confuse the AVR - which was the case with mine, then I remembered we had that fixed out of tree months ago.

Edit: Here we go: https://github.com/xbmc/xbmc/pull/12820 (My Marantz was not so picky as my Denon ;-))

I'll include PR12820 in tonight's build.

I actually used "Windows 10 OTG" on an USB-Stick to update the FW.

I just downloaded the full W10 version and installed it on to an old laptop hdd I'd inserted in the NUC. It doesn't require any registration to download and if you don't activate it it won't expire, it's just a bit crippled. In the future I can always pop the hdd back in to do any future patching.

It doesn't work either. I just tried the following Milhouse build:
Code:
LibreELEC-Generic.x86_64-9.0-Milhouse-20170921190007-#0921u-gbe9975d.tar

Please don't test random builds you happen to find on the web - that particular build is a bisect build I'm testing with @jpeg73 that has nothing to do with HBR and isn't meant for you.

Only test what you have been asked to test.

This means the latest LE9 test build (currently #0921), as this includes a fix that might improve compatibility with your Denon amp.

And for LE8.2, the only build you should be testing is this one: https://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid...pid2649044
