Kodi/XBMC in the media? Post links here

I have real issue with this as it shows the Flirc case with kodi logo on it, which makes it look like it’s that case being recalled, couldn’t find a page to contact as this is misrepresentation of both kodi and flirc, hopefully someone from Team Kodi can point them in the right direction 👿

Problem with that photo, it’s 3 companies/foundations/charities that it could easily hurt, I shown the article to my friends and they said that it looked like Pi case was being recalled, this is beyond sloppy journalism 🙁

Send them a cease and desist letter from the foundation lawyer. In fact send it to anyone associating Kodi/FLIRC products with piracy.

It could be a great news story to hit the message home about the difference between Kodi and Add-ons that would finally put Kodi on the front foot.

The way news organisations work, they each copy one another and use the same photos or quotes. It really is about stopping it at source before it spreads.

This article is really good an brings up things like the current fight between Amazon and Google over youtube access, that this Kodi port may actually fix in the future.

Some really good points in there.

Best article so far yes.
Most also point out that Kodi can bring PVR support that Microsoft cancelled

As seen in https://torrentfreak.com/pirate-kodi-add...st-180214/, I am seriously hoping that this might be the push to stop the likes of The Bald Guy, and the other dodgy car salesmen of his ilk on Youtube, as well as the 'piracy devs'.

I am so hoping this is fruitful, only for the Kodi project to not have to deal with third party junk....(as in the 'builds' and 'wizards' etc). Its probably just a wait and see thing though.

That is not News, it is a bunch of idiots on a forum (a forum that seems to breach our trademark at that).

FCC Asks Amazon and eBay To Stop Selling Fake Pay TV Boxes Slash article https://techcrunch.com/2018/05/29/fcc-as...-tv-boxes/

Kodi is referenced too many times as Kodi boxes.

Isn't it abundantly clear at this point that one or more entertainment industry lobbying firms are placing these articles to indiscriminating "journalists"? The rudimentary understanding of what Kodi is and the purposeful effort to misrepresent it (other than the mandatory "doesn't contain any piracy software" comment always buried somewhere in the sensationalist nonsense) makes it clear, at least to me, that this is all manipulated commentary. Plus, the irresponsible use of the term "Kodi box" is tantamount to libel, except that the hidden influencers who are seeding these articles would probably be more than willing to pundle up legal funds if Kodi, unwisely, ever challenged the term. A disgusting and unthinking propaganda campaign against one of the finest and most durable freeware projects ever conceived.
