Beta Spotify for Kodi
Just wanted to report: I just installed this plugin on Windows x64, Kodi stable 17.6, entered my username & password and it just worked. The main thing for me: it shows up as a Spotify Connect device. But browsing my play lists also works fine.

It's just working as expected for me. I did notice a crash from Spotty.exe, but this happened after I woke from hibernation. I thiink this is a relatively common issue where some programs don't flawlessly return after the PC wakes from a sleep state. I might be looking into forcing a restart of Spotty.exe after wake. Or simply shut down my PC instead of using hibernation mode.

Edit: using Launcher4Kodi, it has an option 'Close Kodi on suspend' and also 'Start Kodi on startup'. With these two options enabled, no more error messages about Spotty.exe crashing Smile

Question: does this plugin support High Quality 320kbps streaming? There's no option in the plugin, just curious what it's using?

Yes, it is hard-coded at the highest rate (320kbps)

Hi,

Thank you for this great plugin, I really love it Big Grin

But lately I have this strange issue.
I'm using Krypton on a Nvidia Shield and my Spotify account is linked to my Facebook account.
The plugin works, no problems there, but since a few weeks I've been getting these popups to 'authorize this app on Spotify.' This popup appears randomly while watching a movie or even while I'm using Spotify!
There is no cancel button so I have to click 'OK' and then my browser opens and it says 'authorisation succesfull'. Anyone familiar with this issue?
I already created a device password on the Spotify site because I read in a post that Facebook authorisation might be the problem, but that didn't help..

Thanks Angel

Ok so i sorted this i think, well this seemed to work fo me.

i logged into spotify and set up a device password, this then emails you a different login and password (for sonos use etc)

I then logged in to spotify kodi using these new credentials and no popup every appears and it works fine, if you are having issues its worth a try.

Hi,

I'm trying to install this plugin, but it seems to be incompatible. I downloaded the zip file from the git repository. I selected 'install from zip file'.
Once that was done I selected install from repository. I tried selecting the addon, but it says 'Add-on is incompatible or has been marked broken in repository'.

Are there specific dependencies that I need to install first? I'm running this on a raspberry pi (Raspbian Jessy) and I don't have any other add-ons installed at the moment.

I took some logs from the moment I selected 'install from zip file'. Because after that nothing interessting appears in the log:

<log removed - mod>

Thanks.

1. Please don't post inline logs - use pastebin or similar.

2. Please don't post partial logs - the developers are best-placed to determine what is and isn't relevant to a problem, and that may be somewhere wildly different in the log (e.g. the hardware list or OS/driver versions)

You also have a banned repository installed from what you posted. Be aware of the legal issues and potential for damage, and also the forum rules (wiki) surrounding repos/addons like that.

My apologies. I new to the forum and should've paid more attention to these rules. I will collect a full log and remove any of the banned repositories.

Kind regards

Hi, I have problems with skipping to next track.
When I start listening everything goes well, but when a new track must begin, there's no sound at all. When I pause / play it start playing again, also a skip to the next track works. But when I let I play through the end of the track, the next track doesn't play again.
I made some logs, it starts with playing a track, and then a skip to the next track.

I am running LibreElec 9 on a AMLogic box, Kodi 18.0

Just tested on LibreElec 8.2, Kodi 17.6, all fine !

Hello guys,

I love the addon, that's a very good job with the spotify connect function!

I have a weird issue, and can't pin point where it comes from: I have random Kodi crashes while playing music via the Spotify addon. Sometimes it's after a few songs, sometimes it works for hours before crashing. I did a fresh install of the addon, it did not solve the issue.

I have uploaded the logs here: https://pastebin.com/3Rgc0N1K (playback crashed at 13:40)
The Kodi-crash log is too heavy for pastebin free version, so let me know if you need more logs I'll upload the parts you need.

I run LibreELEC 8.2.2 (Generic.x86_64) on a  Chromebox Asus m004u (Chrome OS is gone, it's only running LibreElec).

Thanks for your help!
