I see more and more videos comes as this and I only get this new UHD and are unable to play any new movies. I do not want to see or get them in regular HD.

I believe they were waiting for an actual release on libbluray. Luckily, this happened yesterday! Release 1.0.2. http://git.videolan.org/?p=libbluray.git

Here's to hoping it is integrated.

Release 1.0.2 is only basic UHD support, there is no Java menu support, see http://git.videolan.org/?p=libbluray.git...423460cc1b

The update to Libbluray v1.0.2 is being worked on so should hopefully be added to v18 Nightlies soon depending on how much free time the relevant dev has.

Hello

I haven't read this whole thread through, so sorry if I've missed anything.

I am a sparetime hobby Blu-ray Disc Java developer, offering my assistance in adding BD-J support to Kodi.

I can offer two of my homebrew stuff for testing purposes. Both are legal, unprotected, plays in VLC at the moment (with a few bugs though). Burn the ISO's to disc and see them on a real player to see how they should act. The ISO's will also play on quite a few hardware media centers.

First ISO: "Ukko's Journey". A game that I ported from JavaME (MIDP) to BD-J just as a proof-of-concept project, to disprove a lot of misconceptions about BD-J.

(Xbox One will accept Blu-ray content on a DVD. PlayStation and others requires a BD-R or BD-RE).

Second ISO: "8-bit Memoirs", a rather huge project I finished recently. An eBook with lots and lots of supplemental music and video.

You can find me on Freenode as mr_lou, and I'm available for any BD-J and Blu-ray Disc related questions.

Since Java is a requirement, why not add it as an option in the installer?

Could someone please try a uhd disc with a current nightly? I've bump libbluray, but there might be problems with the player profile. I don't have any uhd discs.

Hm, I don't have a UHD disc, but I can't even play a standard Blu-ray ISO or folder with the current nightly build. Using Ubuntu Linux. That should work, shouldn't it? What am I missing?
DVD ISO's play fine.

VLC plays the same Blu-ray ISO fine.

Ah yes. Those libs got the videos going. But the BD-J app doesn't show up though.

Here's the log:
https://pastebin.com/35cZhF9u

Also: I notice Kodi is suffering from the same bug that VLC is, which indicates that it's probably a libbluray bug:
In 8-bit Memoirs, BDMV/PLAYLIST/00700.mpls is a playlist that contains multiple tracks. Normally an mpls file only contains just a single video, but here it contains many.
When one track is done and the next one starts playing, the video part is left out. I.e. it's just a black screen. You can still hear the audio, but video is gone.
