I understood that currently Kodi on Xbox one not supporting hardware decoding and that's why 4k are lagging. Correct?

Is this something that can be fixed by you guys or it's something waiting for Microsoft?

I know you are working hard and it's very appreciated, just want to know what to expect from 4k in Xbox Kodi and is it going to be fixed in near future.

No. Hardware decoding works great on XB1 except UHD hevc main10.

So x264 8bit UHD movie should work fine? Because I have docu movie with these parameters that lag.

I am far from being an expert regarding all the video technical terms(such as x265,x264,etc) so sorry in advance.
Do I need to turn on the hw decoding manually?
Please advise.

unfortunately but xb1 can't hardware decode uhd x264 files. It just has no h264 decoder for something more than FHD.
UDH hevc (x265) 8bit works well.

 This applies to all xboxes? Even old fatty? Because all x265-files I have tried on mine have played slow and sound out of sync.

What is bitrate of your files?

I tried 1080p, 3273 kb/s, Main 10@L4@Main and it's working since 25th February build.
CPU usage: 10-20%.
