My DVD playback issue is not specific to Libreelec. I attempted to play the disc with OSMC (Kodi 18) on my Raspberry PI 3 with the same results, hangs going to main menu. Disc worked fine on the laptop with handbrake.

Sounds like a kodi issue. Can you reproduce with an Ubuntu build? That will probably have a better chance of getting the right devs to look into it.
Open a track ticket if you can.

Will do. Just installed Kodi 18 on my Bodhi Linux machine. I will have to wait until I come across another disc. I sent the problem one back after watching it on the laptop in VLC.

Hello,
I seem to have some playback issues (dropped frames) with certain TV streams from TVHeadend. The problem channel is 'MTV 3 HD' in the log, it's never acheiving 50 fps.
Link to log Debug log

Thanks,
Phil.

If you record it, does it work, especially if you play it back via Files?
First decide what functions / features you expect from a system. Then decide for the hardware. Don't waste your money on crap.
Hello Fritsch,
Yes, the issue is still there in the recording, playing back via Files.

PTS seems totally broken. Can you switch the backend?

Hello ALL
Is it possible to enter the new version of kodi and enable live TV in 1920x1080i 50hz or 1280x720p 50hz resolution? In LibreELEC 8.2.4 when I have 3840x2160p 50hz resolution enabled, the judder effect can be seen while watching live TV. When it changes in the menu kodi resolution to 1920x1080i and 25hz everything works fine. My point is to enter a separate resolution only for live TV. All the rest to work in native 4K resolution.

I described my problem here

This thread is NOT about version 8.2.4. Milhouse nightlies have - depending on you hw - optimized hq scaling support. This especially helps when upscaling to 4k resolutions. For your 8.2.4 (even if off topic) either change the resolution of kodi to 1920x1080 or keep the scaling method set to Bilinear / nearest neighbour.
First decide what functions / features you expect from a system. Then decide for the hardware. Don't waste your money on crap.
I understand that the topic does not apply to libreELEC 8.2.4. My point is to introduce this function in a new version that will come 9.0. My point is that, as in my case, there is a problem with judder. And he wanted me to be able to add the option "Watch live TV in 1920x1080i 50hz or 1280x720p 50hz resolution in the live TV menu"

I installed the latest LibreELEC.tv Leia build # 0329 on the flash drive. He alone detected all possible resolutions from my Kabylake. The menu is set 3840x2160x50hz. After a while, watching TV seems to be running smoothly.

However, I have a bigger problem. The new LibreELEC does not see my AVR.
I will explain how I have it connected.
My HTPC has 2 video outputs. HDMI 2.0 and Displayport

By HDMI 2.0 I have connected my 4K TV and it works.
Through Displayport -> adapter -> AVR does not work.

On the old LibreELEC 8.2.4 everything works fine. This is my log
https://paste.ubuntu.com/p/mZxmPHJ5z9/

Edid. However, there is still a jerking effect (judder). I am currently watching National Geographic HD and I see the effect of jerking on the screen.

Hi Fritsch,
swapping out the backend is a little difficult at the moment Blush

But, I tested the issue with another pc which has a Nvdia card, and the problem channel plays perfectly fine. Running the latest Millhouse build.
Attached is the log Debug log

I also tested some earlier Millhouse builds on the Intel NUC, build 1111 was the last build where this channel plays reasonably ok- sometimes a few frames are dropped.

Thanks,
Phil.

Please open a trac issue, add the Debug Log and a sample (part of your recording) so that we can try to reproduce.
