Thanks. With the sample I was able to fix it: https://github.com/xbmc/xbmc/pull/13718

@FernetMenta
Will this latest fix be merged into today's nightly build and available tomorrow?
I have similar sound issues when watching certain Live TV channels, as reported here:-
329417 (thread) and here 329363 (thread)
Is this fix likely to resolve my sound issues well or do you think it's un-related?

 I merged it. If nothing goes wrong with build, it should be in the nightly tomorrow.

Installed latest nightly build and fix appears to have solved the no audio issue for my affected HD Channels. Also had a couple of SD channels that had the same issue with no audio, but are also working now as well. Smile Hopefully it will be the same for @ashleyw and others who have reported the same issue.
However, for some reason I'm not getting the media flags for the audio channels showing up on the OSD. I'm not even getting the fallback '?' flag currently showing. Any thoughts on why this might be happening and if it can be resolved?
Many thanks for the fix on the audio issue. Very much appreciated Smile

 Thanks a million @FernetMenta , much appreciated. I now have audio on all the channels.
One thing I do notice though is that for the channels with the 5.1 sound, the channel switch times is very fast (within a second or so), but whenever I switch to one of these channels with AAC stereo on, the channel can take up to 15 seconds to stabalise... by this I mean the channel tunes in fast like the others, but then the channel keeps restarting multiple times randomly until the audio stream stabilises. Once the audio stream stabalises there are no issues with that channel on either video or audio.
I presume during this time the audio type is being detected. Again, this is specifically an issue with liveTV and not recordings.

The same issue exists on SPMC. but not on Plex DVR.

Are you aware of this issue and are there any changes that can be made to the player to fix this?

Debug logs are here;
kodi-channelstart-stutter.log
https://docs.google.com/document/d/1MTot...pi3zQwEUNs
debug mode enabled, navigate to TV then back to guide, select channel 12 - Choice TV "American Pickers"

I've made a small ts recording;

I've seen this behaviour with the channel restarting multiple times on a couple of my stations, but I don't get any audio either. This was using the Media Portal Client, but when using the NextPVR client, the same channels play fine and as expected. If it helps in any way, I can provide full debug logs whilst playing these channels for both clients.
Just let me know.
