v18 LibreELEC Testbuilds for RaspberryPi (Kodi 18.0)
(2018-06-13, 12:49)Halloway Wrote: Crash & restart when playing folder with FLAC music files. #0611
The logs look very similar to the ones I got on LE RPi and Debian x86_84, our good old friend the busy dialog :-).

I've opened a trac ticket yesterday, hope it gets resolved soon http://trac.kodi.tv/ticket/17915

so long,

EDIT: nevermind, figured it out.
Would be nice if you could help solving issues regarding reusepython with log / explantation whats going wrong, thx!

Yes it looks very similar, if not identical. I'll keep an eye on your trac ticket then.

Thanks,
H.

The behaviour is that when I’m at the main menu of the addon, and I try to drill down into sub menus, it just kicks me back to the main menu every time.

I posted some brief log entries earlier and I’ll try to dig those up. I can’t post a full log due to violation with site rules, but I am happy to help in any other way that I can. Though I realize the info I am providing is of limited value.

Can you compare build #0429 with #0428? #0429 is when we updated libinput.

Can you also compare #0423 with #0422? #0423 includes PR13176 which adds the libinput backend for non window system platforms.

You may need to confirm or reconfigure your keyboard settings with each build, as the settings may not migrate correctly when upgrading or downgrading. It may also be worth rebooting after changing keyboard layout.

Edit: Also try comparing #0302 with #0301 but be warned: these #030x builds will not boot the Pi3+ (as they pre-date the Pi3+ launch).

After an hour having fun with updates and restarts I can say it starts with #417, #416 is working. Checked that twice.
Before I try to find a solution - are Retroplayer games working in the latest builds?
I just unsuccessfully tried to start installing some of them, as I've got the video players working satisfactorily.

Gave me an error message I can't read all of before it stops scrolling and disappears - "The dependency on kodi.binary.instance.game version..."

Thanks - looks like my initial analysis was a little half-baked, as we'd already included the libinput changes in #0422 since #0417. OK, that's something to think on... not sure if this is an LE issue, or a Kodi issue, or a bit of both.

The game addons need rebuilding.

Sry, I'm unable to find the log snippets, but If you want this solved (using reusepython is way faster) you maybe can build a basic sample addon which shows the issue.
With the reusePython comeback you can experiment GetDirectory errors with a legit addon like CatchupTVandmore

Kernel 4.9.80 with softirq patch is the last kernel that doesn't give me audio dropouts when recording (and watching at the same time) a TV channel. 4.17 is just as bad as 4.14.x.
