Just installed Tubecast and rebooted my HTPC. It works but it keeps on pausing itself after sometime playing. If I press play again on the phone it plays the video again for a while longer and then after some time it pauses itself again. Keeps on doing this.

If I play a different video from YouTube, it does the same thing.

Doesn't seem to make a difference if the phone is on and I am using it or if the phone is not being used it still happens frequently.

Using the YouTube app on my Android 8.0.0 phone and LibreElec Kodi 17.6.

HTPC is hardwired to the gigabit LAN and the phone has good WIFI signal from my Asus router.

Edit:

Now playing the same YouTube video on my real ChromeCast V2 device and it's not pausing itself any longer.

I believe to reproduce this I just have to cast a video for some time and wait for it to pause. How much is some time? What Kodi version are you using? Can you provide a debug log?

Kodi 17.6 LibreElec Linux.

I also installed this plugin in Kodi on an Amazon FireTV stick, that did seem to work OK. But I was casting shorter length videos.

On my LibreElec HTPC I was casting a 3 hour long radio talk show video and it kept pausing itself like every 5 or 10 minutes.

I will test again and get a debug log and some better timings.

Thanks.

Ok, thanks. I tested it moments ago with a 30 min video. Watched it for ~20 min before getting bored and it worked without interruptions/pauses. Please enable "Debug youtube CMDs" in the addon settings too before capturing the log.

Hi. I'm from Brazil, and this is my first post on forum.kodi.tv. Sorry about my poor english.
I installed TubeCast in my OSCM Kodi v17.6 (Krypton) on Raspberry Pi 3, with Python version 2.7.13.
So, i'm able to pair any device with TubeCast, i just can't see the "icon" on YouTube apps to share de videos over SSDP, in Chrome v67 or Youtube App v13.22.54 for Android v7.0.
I try to disable SSL verification, but does not make any effect. Turned on Debug mode for youtube cmds and SSPD, i see in my kodi logs that an error appears: error: [Errno 98] Address already in use.
The error:
https://paste.ubuntu.com/p/HRpvFJMK98/
The debug log:
https://paste.ubuntu.com/p/zbCTMxdDyT/

Hey, that's not a full debug log...it is a truncated debug log containing only the error (which is self explanatory). You have another system service or service addon using the same port TubeCast uses for the HTTP server (which is atm hardcoded to 8008). Try to find out what is using the port using a tool like netstat.
There is room for improvement in the addon code as it can try to find a port that is not being used in the future. For now you have to find out what is using the port and disable or change the port for that service

EDIT: Trying with a fresh install of OSMC, same version (updated).

Ok, sorry. This is the full debug log:

And this is the port listening status from netstat for 8008:
https://paste.ubuntu.com/p/xcDMV4HPfQ/

By the way, I try to access directly from the browser with this port (http://192.168.0.10:8008), and an message appears: Only Youtube is supported

So, no answers until now, but even so i discovered that my other Android device, an older GT-I8552B (with root), with Youtube App v13.03.58 works normally with TubeCast and found the Addon (SSPD server) to cast videos, instantaneously.
Google Chrome doesn't work.
My other smartphone with the same Youtube app version, or even an older (tried that too), doesn't work.
DEBUG LOG:
https://paste.ubuntu.com/p/x42rXdjv5S/

EDIT:
That's strange, really.
I noticed some urls on kodi.log that I have posted, this => "http: //192.168.0.17:49152/description.xml" <=
Comes from the app that i installed on the GT-I8552B, called by "AirPlay/DLNA Receiver (LITE)" for other reasons, from Google Play.
I give a try and install this on the smartphone that wasn't find the Tube Cast. Now the icon to cast videos, without to have paired with generated codes, appear and works!
I can access the same url on my smartphone => http://192.168.0.18:49152/description.xml <= (other ip)

Why this influence? If i uninstall that AirPlay App, I'm unable to cast the videos again...

Google chrome won't work, this is only for the youtube application which is one of the few applications that is still backwards compatible with cast v1. I've no idea why installing the other app makes your rpi discoverable though as I can't see any error in your log. The addon is anwsering your SSDP broadcast packets:

Code:
15:45:43.061 T:1371476736 DEBUG: [script.tubecast] script.tubecast: 192.168.0.18 - - "GET /ssdp/device-desc.xml HTTP/1.1" 200 1049

Try to uninstall the application that is making the addon being discoverable, confirm your phone cannot see tubecast and open the url above on the phone. Do you have both phones paired at the same time? That may be the reason for the issue

Uninstalling the application (AirPlay receiver), reboot the phone, reboot RPi and confirmed, my phone cannot see TubeCast.
Try to acccess the url "192.168.0.18/ssdp/device-desc.xml" on my phone - ERR_CONNECTION_REFUSED

Here is the DEBUG LOG with AirPlay App uninstalled from the phone:
https://paste.ubuntu.com/p/TyZ6vft3gH/

I have only the phone(SM-G570M), the RPi3(OSMC) and my notebook on the same network now. For a long time I did not turn on the old phone (GT-I8552B), and never paired both at the same time. I just took it out of the drawer to test, yesterday, and realized that works, because the AirPlay App i suppose. Like the SM, if i uninstall the app from GT, doesn't work anymore.

I really appreciate your help, man, the idea of TubeCast is awesome (casting videos with Yatse is boring) and since i use Kodi (xbmc ~2008), i always searched for this feature.

Installing again the AirPlay App on the phone via Google Play,
Here is the DEBUG LOG: (and works again, I really don't know why)
https://paste.ubuntu.com/p/b8SYjpBqzX/

Thanks for answering @enen92

Just to make sure, 192.168.0.18 is the IP address of your pi? When accessing the url from the phone you should use the ip address of the raspberry pi
