Win Intel HTPCs/NUCs & Kodi-native 3D MVC Playback
Thanks very much! Do these work for 3D? I tried a few of the other builds on the link I posted earlier with my NUC and none actually worked in 3D. Or is it the NUC that no longer works in 3D? I recently sold my old NUC and bought a new one, wiping the old hard drive for an onward sale, but now wish that I'd kept a working 3D MVC build. Can anyone point me to a bild that I can download and use just for 3D tht actually works? Thanks again

For some reason the download link for the December build in the original OP is not working. "Google drive says Sorry, the file you have requested does not exist."

Asrock J4105 bios 1.30 here.

Doesn't work for me on WIN 10
Powerdvd, Stereoscopic player, or Kodi(no hardware based option), non of them handles MVC BD3D correctly. My projector(pro7827hd) just switches to 1920x2205p and thats it, the  picture is 2D.
Strangely if i play mk3d(FTAB flagged) with powerdvd v15.0.1510.58(v18 can't do it) picture goes doubled but I don't have glasses yet and I can't  test it.
I'll probably use pcie mining extension slot for external GPU.
Well ....native hdmi 2.0a with no usage at all no HDR or 3D ....

How on earth do you have an 55EF950V with a 2018 panel?
Did you buy one from LG or was it broken and got replaced?
I didn't know, that something like that is doable...
Can't write you a pm, but maybe that is of interest by others

Is your KODI  / Windows GUI set to 1080p or UHD? I guess you should try first to set the GUI to FHD / 60Hz and than try to see what happens whit 3D MVC switching.

Your other 3D options would be PowerDVD, Stereoscopic Player, Jriver and as for a free solution DSPlayer with MadVR.

Replaced under warranty (Logo burn-in). Panel was produced in 2018-05 (according to box-label) and has newer panel options build in (Logo dimming for example).

Okay, that's great news. Thanks for the info.
I have another question regarding your Shuttle DH270.
Is the HDMI 2.0 output mvc capable?
Or do you use one HDMI 1.4 for 3D and the HDMI 2.0 for 4K HDR?
And if yes, do you switch the signals with your AV?

I only use the 2.0a port of the DH270, so no switching between de HDMI ports. It is not MVC capable, but the other two 1.4 ports are (which I only use one for HD audio output to receiver).

I've compared several Windows systems when it comes to 3D over the years, and I came to the conclusion that Interlaced 3D on a passive 4k Oled 3D TV (with video resolution set at 4k), is at least at the same level as MVC 3D is in Hardware mode with video set in 1080p, maybe even somewhat better. I've shared my testing with this sometime back in this topic.

Okay, but i can live with the fact, that i have to switch to the HDMI output on my receiver, if i'm watching a 3D movie. Atleast it's only one device then...
At the moment i'm watching 3D with my Pi3, but then i loose my selfmade Ambilight, that is hooked up to my Arduino.

Another weird thing i noticed was, that 3D wasn't even working on an 3D 1080p TV with HDMI 1.4 and a pc with a HDMI 1.4 output with PowerDVD17.
The 3D was weird to watch. Did you test that with your Shuttle?

And for the other people out there:
Yesterday i reinstalled Windows 10 on my NUC with HDMI 1.4 and 2.0.
But this time not 1803 version, but 1703 and guess what:
With the last build from Dec 08 i can select hardware based 3d mvc encoding. When i update to 1709 or 1803 it's gone.
So stick to 1703 and block windows updates via external firewall like pfsense.

Hope that will help the 3D elite here Smile

AsRock NUC-like new mini-PC's on the way.

Open questions: these will run 65W TDP CPU's, so the fan noise level will be interesting. And no info so far if these will have HDMI 1.4 or 2.0a ports, but if the latter, than with what kind of DP converter chips. I have recently read a post where some reported luck with 3D MVC on the HDMI 2.0a output with a motherboard that has the Megachips type converter. No such success ever read in the case of the more common LPScon type converters. But my guess is that AsRock has stick to the LPScon, as they use that on all their other integrated boards.

I'm hoping someone can help me. I've tried the Kodi build from the first page of this thread (and a couple of others). I can select hardware based decoding, and I can get the GUI to display perfectly in 3D. When I play a 3D MVC MKV file it plays only in 2D. When I play a MVC iso file it triggers the 3D framepacking mode but shows the kodi gui with the sound playing but no picture from the film. I presume this is some sort of decoding issue but I'm not sure where to start looking. Any help much appreciated.

Hi,

after windows fall creator update v1803 kodi plays 3D MVC files only 2D.
When selecting the movie I can choose hardware based but it has no effect.

Latest Intel Graphics driver installed for HD530 in my i3-6100T.

Does anyone have a solution?
Thanks
