Having problems with video streaming addons such as TVCatchup and iplayer www in latest nightly builds, believe I have tracked issue down. (Perhaps the VideoPlayer demux and sync fixes in 0908?)

debug log #0907 BBC 1 Live streams plays OK. (Tested with TVCatchup)
debug log #0909 BBC 1 Live stream plays OK (Tested with TVCatchup and iplayer www)
debug log #0909b BBC 1 Live stream does not start. (Tested with TVCatchup)

Note: Same issue also present in Win64 kodi nightlies for me, 0908 plays streams & 0909 does not play streams.

I could not install #0909 via libreelec settings method of download/install as it always installs 0909b, will now install #0909 (really 0908) libreelec build manually and provide similar debug log with a confirmed result shortly.

----edit---- #0909 test info added.

----edit---- Created new thread and included debug logs for same issue when using Win64 nightlies on a PC Here
----edit 19/09---- Established that my issue caused by my previously altering InputStream Adaptive selection of stream from Auto to Manual in its settings. Switching back to Auto and addons are working correctly on post #0909 builds.

Hi! My RPi3B+ does not work with the hifiberry-digi card. Although RPi3B works fine. In config.txt, I assigned dtoverlay = hifiberry-digi in both cases. In the case of RPi B3 +, the string ALSA: snd_rpi_hifiberry-digi,S/PDIF is absent in the AUDIO settings. But in the case of RPI B3 it is present. Build #0913 and before that too.
Hi,

installed all the last builds, i am not able to use my dvbsky s 960 any more. i used libreelec 8 till skygo plugin was broke, updated to libreelec 9 beta and tv worked fine. updating to milhouse build 0609 as first try and live tv was broken. downgrading resolves the issue.

After some up and downgrading with some resets hard and soft i can say that i cant bring livetv on milhouse to work. semms like driver issue. lsmod shows driver is loaded correctly and firmware too. i tried changing with another firmware file that works und libreelec 8 didnt help.

on milhouse wscan and tvheadend wont tune, no signal is the error.

the funny thing is that a fresh libreelec 9 didnt find channels too, tv worked here only on my first update..
dont understand

i checked al config possibiltys on new driver addon. what i can announce for me is that i can see if media build or stb is enabled by green tab, that does not work for le standart, that never gets green. i can set it, it will restart, after restart i set again and it will restart again. not for media build and tbs, only le standart.

thank you for patience

What is the reason for adding yet another place in the settings to change the language or keyboard layout?

Settings > Libreelec > System > Keyboard Layout
Interface > Regional > Language & Keyboard layouts
System > Inputs > Keyboard layouts

There may be a technical difference between each option, but it's not user friendly.

And don't get me started on having to set the language for some other options like information providers, subtitles and audio...

So why not gather ALL language and regionality settings in a new steetngs menu?

 This is a really good point. I understand the frustration and I really didn't want to have to add another keyboard setting. This one is only temporary because I don't have enough time for the kodi v18 release window, so this is better than not being able to adjust the keymap at all.

In v19 I plan to expand the peripherals api so I can move the libinput code into an add-on and then it will be really nice to manage devices and each device will have it's own settings Smile Expanding an API takes a lot of time though and we are in beta3 period right now.

I'm not sure if it's a good idea to put all the region settings together but who knows. I do agree that Kodi does have too many settings though.

I don't know any other system that doesn't have its language-settings in one place. Imho even the addons should be told by the system what the preferred language of the user is. Right now each single addon can have its own settings for audio, metadata and subtitle language. It's a mess...

gpu_mem_1024=256
max_usb_current=1
force_turbo=0
decode_MPG2=0x
decode_WVC1=0x
dtoverlay=hifiberry-digi
dtparam=audio=off

I'm getting infrequent (but so far daily) seg fault crashes running LE 8.90.004 (v18 Beta1) on RPi2, so far always during music playback but I don't think that media is the issue. Playing boring FLAC that have played OK before, and replay without issue. I'm not sure it is a music issue either, more likely just that I spend a lot of time playing music compared to video! Crash happens after at least 4 hours of playback, and generally only once is 14 hours although it did happen twice in 15mins on one occassion.

Wondering if any Millhouse build users have experienced similar?

No addons, no viz, infact running with TV off and using JSON (via Chorus and Yatse) to control remotely. Crash logs available, for example https://pastebin.com/4HHwUUeZ if that gives anyone some hints to the issue. Hoping that @Milhouse  has an "aha" moment. What component logging can I usefully enable?

thanks for your response. I tested a lot of test builds during the last hours.
The followinf test scenarios:
- complete Network boot wir path to boot files and storage dir.
- clean storage dir only with advancedsettings.xml
- tested with complete redirect of masterprofile and redirect of special files in masterprofile
- the problem is only with sources.xml and passwords.xml. if both are not redirected it is working, a complete redirect of masterprofile is also not working.
- Same problem with smb and nfs redirect (nfs has no username/password for the protocol)

as I said, i made a lot of tests and I hope a made no mistake!

Up to 0326 is working and from 0327 its not working.

The obvious candidate in #0327 is the following:

This is quite a serious bug that will affect many that are using path substitution, I would imagine.

The next step would be to produce a simple test case and open an issue on trac.kodi.tv. And/or ping @afedchin.

Edit: I've pinged @afedchin, he'll try and have a look at it tomorrow which may avoid having to create a trac ticket.

Hi Milhouse,

any news about the Problem? Can/Should I do something or is it on the way??

thanks
