When using 360 controller I'm getting some weird inputs. Left stick down brings up close menu, left on d-pad is same as X, right opens some TV menu. I was using Kodi 17 for over a year before this issue appeared and updating to 18.3 changed nothing.  In settings controller is properly recognized, keybinding it again makes no difference. Closing every application that could interfere with the controller does nothing. After completely removing kodi with appdata folder and installing it again controller works correctly ONCE, after restart it's the same thing again.

Sounds like it works out of the box, then the issue arises.

This is the log after it doesn't work... it would be nice to compare the old.log that did work.

Your old.log is the same, each time you initialize Kodi, it renames the existing log to old.log and with that was the missed opportunity to see the proper working default controller load. Suggest trying other controller profiles, ensure your settings>system>driver and attached controllers have been set properly.
