Added Google Drive to Video and Music database/library with localhost:port/path...
It's working for both.
Videofiles scraping works. All information are loaded.
MP3 scraping ist not working. Kodi tries to scrape... 0% up to 100% but in the end no data found.

As far as I have understood about how Kodi works, I don't think it's possible to make this to work.
Because music scraping works differently than video scraping.
Kodi reads the metadata of the songs from the files (it's a mandatory) unlike video scraping.
Kodi can't read the files because they are not actual audio files.
I may don't know what I am talking about, but I think I am right on this.
I don't think this is something cguZZMan could make it to work.
Kodi's music scraping would have to be changed fundamentally.
@olympus Maybe you are right. But another guy from the german kodi forum is using gdrive with rclone and emby. He can scrape his mp3s.
I'm not using emby and i don't want to use it. Rclone is of course an alternative to this addon. I have to try it, maybe it will work with rclone.

I haven't tested it a lot because most of my content is local, I don't have a lot of content in my Google Drive account.
I tried something out of curiosity.
I created some dummy audio files with ffmpeg (with the same duration and metadata) and scraped them.
Then I uploaded the original audio files to my Drive following the same folder structure.
I edited with SQLite Browser the music database db file, the paths, to make it have as root of each album the http directory of them.
I mean this kind of directory http://localhost:8587/source/.
Kodi played them from my Google Drive account.
I am shocked this worked, but I wouldn't suggest anybody to try it.
I think it's a bad idea to edit the db files ourselves, everything can go wrong.
Maybe Emby, I don't have any exprerience on it, gives actual audio files to Kodi.
Let's hope when cguZZMan is back, to give a better answer than mine, he definitely knows if he could make this to work.

I had the same idea but havn't tryed it yet.
It's somethink for a rainy weekend.
Thanks for your suggestions.

Edit:
I found another solution.
I added my GDrive to my Nextcloud, added Nextcloud via webdav to Kodi, MP3 scraping works.

I have restored Kodi from 0, but playback is still failing. I have installed the addon in a Mecool KI Pro and I have reproduced the same movie in 4k and without cuts. What can be the failure?

Try restoring your shield tv

I have been facing the same issue: https://github.com/cguZZman/plugin.googl.../issues/67

The workaround for me: install Kodi 18.0.

@cguZZMan - I am still facing that slow source issue on Kodi 18.0, 18.1, 18.2 and 18.3 on Shield  - any news about it?

This is not an add-on I follow so I don't know its status and the developers intention. But a Debug Log might help.

I'm using this addon to add movies and series to the library. Almost everything is working well enough, I just have two little problems. How do I keep it from scraping Extras as well? When I used to put my films in my HDD, I just used the ".nomedia" solution. But it doesn't seem to work with the Google Drive addon. Also, for some reason, Dark Shadows (1996) S01E01 is not being added to the library (the rest of the episodes are)

TV Show scrapping: check the naming convention for TV Shows: https://kodi.wiki/view/Naming_video_files/TV_shows and also check if the information you are providing match what is found at https://themoviedb.org/

Everything is correct. Extras weren't being added to the library as movies and the episode was being added to the library before. It's not a naming problem. The problems only appeared after I uploaded to Google Drive and started using it as the source

TV Shows: how are you setting up your google drive libraries? Using the service? I am using the .strm exports. Sometimes you have to run it manually though, but it works most of the times.
Reply
Extras: I tried but the it didn't work
TV Shows: I'm exporting the TV Shows folder as .strm files from Google Drive to a folder on my HD and added it (the .strm folder) as source

The Google Drive add-on for KODI is in the Kodi Addon Repository
  • Unlimited accounts
  • Team Drives support

Any comment, suggestion or report of issues are appreciated. I'll try to respond asap.

This program/addon is not affiliated with or sponsored by Google.

What is the purpose of this addon, to host repos or other files, it can't possibly be to stream videos if so what about google's daily data limits? Unless you have a paid google account this could be restrictive. OR perhaps I'm just not getting the point of the purpose of the app but I'm learning so please do clarify.
