Sony Android TV

Hoping someone may be able to tell me when Kodi will allow manual switching from 60hz to 50hz again as here in Australia most subscription services are in PAL 50hz not NTSC 60hz so I always get a jitter every few seconds which is annoying as F.
Had the same issue with Apple TV and changing from 60hz to 50hz fixed the issue so thinking its the same problem with Kodi as it was fine when using Kodi 16 when switching was available. Why not now?

The option "Sync playback to display" doesn't help?

And how would one unlock them especially in a country that doesn’t support @60

You can't... Sony doesn't allow apps to change the resolution

Kodi Leia should not be used on Sony TV's for those users that are in the demanding category.
ie expecting HD audio or auto Frame Rate Matching / Switching to work.

The only two Android Kodi Leia options you have for those features are the Nvidia Shield or 2016 Mi Box.

Most of us in 50Hz territories add cheap LibreELEC / OSMC / CoreELEC Kodi Leia media players to our setup to handle 25 / 50 fps streamed content, or use the MrMC App on an Apple TV HD/4K.

So, what would you suggest one to use on their Sony Android TV?

You sure about that? MX Player Pro changes resolution depending on the video file you’re playing...

The TV changes to 1080p 2160p 24p/50/60 depending on the file I’m playing via MX Player Pro.

Well, the TV screen blinks then top left displays a banner with the new resolution... when you stop it, it goes back to what the initial output was...

No. As it has nothing to do with my initial query.

If you want to see it, buy MX Payer Pro from Google Play and install it on your Sony Android TV then play videos. 🤷🏻‍♂️
