Release Catch-Up TV & More
(2019-08-20, 20:19)wwark Wrote: Hi @barney63,
Did you try to change some video parameters accessible during the content is played to see if can help to have a correct rendering of the video ?

Are you able to share the log to see if we can spot something?

The add-on done his job it is on kodi side the m3u8 is not play well with your configuration.

Another test also is to backup your kodi directory in ProgramData of your user windows and try a clean install of Kodi or create a new user in your windows and try to play NTV.
Thanks,
Wwark.
Took me long enough to find the settings screen, easy now that I know. Smile
Deinterlace Method is DXVA
Video Scaling Method is Bicubic

Deinterlace is either DXVA or off, video scaling has several options, I tried making changes and absolutely nothing made a difference.  I would rather other people comment if NTV works or doesn't for them rather than you waste your time on something that might only affect me.  Thanks for your help

Can report no banding or macro blocking on NTV channel.
It is as good as a picture as its resolution provides. Watching all the way from France.
I must however report that SkyNews gives the error : YouTube says this video is unavailable.

Hi @otinley,

We used the script.youtube-dl from the kodi repo to play contents from Youtube, DailyMotion, Vimeo.
This module is not updated for a while so you could have this type of issue. We provided this workaround described there https://catch-up-tv-and-more.github.io/f...youtube-dl

Thanks,
Wwark

The NTV live TV it is 540p and the content are always this quality.
Appreciate the quick response, thanks.

I'm not one of those guys who quibbles if something isn't 1080p, I don't mind a standard definition picture (no buffering), but the NTV picture I'm seeing is unwatchable and I wonder if there is a setting at my end that will correct it.  I'll include a screen shot.

This isn't a corrupted graphic screenshot, that is literally how the TV picture looks.  Again, thanks for looking at this and for the work you do, it is well appreciated.
NTV still providing above picture, all other channels in addon work fine. Please have a look when you get a minute  Log

Hi,
Thank you for the log.
I see some error to decode h264 content but don't know if it is related. Can you please share the log to the Windows part of this forum or open an issue on github of Kodi.

Another test will be to put this url "http://1-fss-fso35.streamhoster.com/lv_ntv/_definst_/broadcast1/playlist.m3u8" in a file with the name "test.m3u" and try to play it on Kodi to see if you have the same issue.

Appreciate the quick response, again.  It's getting a little over my head (the first instructions) but I copied the url and opened it in VLC, it played fine.  I then saved the url to Notepad and named it test.m3u.  Right clicked on it and used Open With and browsed to kodi.exe.  It opened, the audio was fine but the picture was again like the above screenshot

Thank you for your test.
So you need to share the log to github or the windows part of this forum to understand/fix this issue related to your environment and your version of Kodi.
I hope they will find soon a fix.

Thanks,
Wwark

Tele Quebec seems to be gone again, and also under Websites-The National Film Board of Canada, the main menus show up but if you click on any on them they bring up the same list of films.  Hope you can have a look, thanks

That was fast, thanks for your great work on this addon, I should have added the French website for the National Film Board of Canada was doing the same as the English but maybe your fix took care of that as well, thanks again.

Just checking, are you talking about Beta 8.  Right after seeing your post I had an upgrade and it was Beta 7, and the issue still existed.  Thanks
