Broken hGO EU Add-on (plugin.video.hbogoeu) [input-stream] [End Of Life]
@Sholander yes that's not related to the add-on. I checked my logs, made a quick look on rpi libreelec log and log on macos similar messages are present in both, and i guess that's normal or nothing to worry about. It probably try multiple locations for inputstream.adaptive and writes to the log it wasn't found there, and then try other location where its found, but that's just a guess. All work as supposed so I guess its nothing critical. But I didn't experience any crashes on the devices and platforms I use, so the crash is most likely unrelated to that.

@vakilla I tested "Artic Zephir 2" skin with the add-on and all including playback works fine for me (install from the skin author repository 0.9.50-alpha3). So the problem you experienced with the skin might be specific to your installation/platform or skin version you used or some specific configuration.

Yes, crushes are not related to inputstream.adaptive addons, so no problem there, just curiosity Smile

@arvvoid , I will try it as soon as possible and tell you if I can install the addon now.
Thank you very much!
@arvvoid

Addon installed finally, but still can't play any stream.
Login succes, I can browse contents, but when i try to play anything just get a screen with just  [..] the option to get back directory

qicigomavi (paste)

I experience the same problem. Have tried to change skins but it does not help. I have installed Kodi 18 on rasbian and just set it up for Hbo following the procedure. When I try to open a video nothing happens. I tried the Netflix addon and that works without problems so it looks like it is just the HBO addon that doesn`t work.

@pinpoint Hello, the skin used should have no influence over playback (that was just an isolated case that probably is not strictly related to the mentioned skin since it works in my tests with the reported skin).
Playback problems is usually due to outdated widevine version on the system, or other problems with the system/kodi installation (sometimes a simple reboot after widevine installation/update solves the issue).
That said you have to provide a full debug log to get help, and also check your current widevine version from the drm section in the add-on config (you can also force widevine update from there).
Netflix still works with older versions of widevine, Hbo go require at least Libwidevine 4.10.1440+ now, older versions of widevine are simply not compatible with the service anymore.

From the logs i see the add-on perform correctly and playback start in inputstream.adaptive but then fail with an SSL verify error. Also, a similar error happens in the add-on when downloading subtitles

Thats not normal, and indicate a problem with OpenSSL or root certificates on the device, most likely, also a wrong time and date on the device might cause this. Basicaly the verification of SSL certificate fail. I made a quick search on google a bug in Debian, Respian is metioned but i didn't have time to look in detail. This have to be fixed in the system installed on the device.

@pinpoint same error as in Kodi, its an OpenSSL issue on the system affecting everything using OpenSSL (but it doesn't happen for all SSL connections, only some).
On the devices and os i have at hand for testing the problem is not present, rpi LibreElec, rpi OSMC, Windows 10, MacOS Mojave and Ubuntu 18.04 I personally havent tested other systems.
The problem you are experiencing is not a Kodi/add-on problem but a system-wide problem, I recommend opening a thread on the Linux support forum and maybe someone using Debian/Raspbian will have more ideas.

Might be related to this: https://www.debian.org/releases/stable/a...l-defaults

EDIT: Someone already opened a thread there https://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid=347693

I don`t know if I`m getting further. I reinstalled rasbian, kodi and hbo addon. Now curl gives med alot of xml text, looks like subtitles, so it looks like it works. However when I start the hbo addon I get a error message and the addon won`t even start. I`ve looked through the log and can`t see any errors concerning SSL.
I have attached the kodi crash log here: https://ufile.io/wxs6cqai

Hello,

you are missing the cryptodome dependency it doesn't get installed by default on raspbian

In Terminal:

bash:

sudo apt update
sudo apt install python-pip
sudo apt install python-setuptools
sudo apt install build-essential
sudo pip install wheel
sudo pip install pycryptodomex
sudo reboot

and you should be fine

OR DIRECT DOWNLOAD: plugin.video.hbogoeu-2.0.16~beta33.zip

v.2.0.16-beta33
  • Removed unnecessary data from debug log (full loggin can be enabled from options if necessary)
  • Added support for Kodi 19 Matrix (ALPHA)/Python3
  • Check for widevine and setup widevine during setup
  • Gracefully fail on missing cryptodome
  • Changed get device unique identifier for credential encryption (used code from @CastagnaIT Netflix add-on)
NOTE: With this update, it will be necessary to re-enter the credentials since the device key for encryption have changed (you will be asked for credentials automatically). This one will be less prone to random changes, and need to randomly reenter credentials, on some devices. Also now Python 3 is supported and the add-on can run on Kodi 19 Alpha for testing purposes.  (for stable use, use Kodi 18)
