Regarding HDR support on Gemini Lake - it will definitely be supported. The drm/i915 HDR patchset includes Gemini Lake-specific patches.

I can confirm that 2Gb module works fine despite the fact that Asrock's specification page says "2GB DRAM per module is not supported".
I want to grab one cheap on eBay for my J4005B-ITX. I bought 2x4GB Kingston with just slight variations in model number, and only 1 of them worked. I just want to throw another 2GB in there to take advantage of dual channel.
Thanks!

Hi,
In case anyone ends up here that has asrock j4105 (not j4205) mb they updated their firmware in 1.40 in Dec 2018...
One of the cryptic fixes was:
4.Improve Blue-ray, 4K video display.
The update can be found here:
https://www.asrock.com/mb/Intel/J4105-IT...s.asp#BIOS
Good all around value board (however, YMMV)
Frank

HDR doesn't work in Linux desktop or LibreELEC or Kodi(?) yet at all. Not Intel's fault. Hardware and linux driver for j5005 is capable. Problem is neither Xorg nor Wayland supports HDR yet.

HDR wasn't supposed to work only for i3/5/7 Core procs?
