An alternative as suggested by @dkoch84 is to look for the RT live feed on YouTube and then add it as a Favorite. You can then add that to your Main Menu etc.

Thanks Shedrock,

I saw that suggestion. This will only work for 2 of the 6 livestreams from RT however, as the other 4 are still not migrated to YouTube (not sure if they plan to do so).

I am creating my very first video plugin myself, for CGTN... so in the process of learning. It all goes pretty smooth... kodi is well documented and the websites of CGTN have nice rest API's to enumerate livestreams and videos.

Hence my question to take over the maintenance of this plugin... as I think it is useful and I like it Smile

All existing issues with the RT plugin are now fixed (v3.0.6).
- All livestreams and shows are working again
- Fixed thumb image retrieval
- Added banner image
- Adjust default fan-art
- Up-step Youtube version and adjust new calling parameters

I am unable to install this on Krypton 17.6. I get a "The Dependency on xbmc.python 2.26.0 could not be satisfied" error.
Is there a workaround to this without having to upgrade to Kodi 18?
I have some addons that will break with python 3.

What region are you in? RT, RT America. . .UK and Russia Insight, are all available I view the channels daily

Russian side have probably changed the url and addon needs to be updated

DE, RT.DE has been shutdown. RT Livestream 24/7 found on youtube is running without stutter and buffer. Thanks for the tip.
