no shortcut key required. You have to configure which apps you want it to do automatically.

That's a 3rd party app not the native Shield refresh rate option.

This app was developed exclusively for shield.
Not work in mi box or another box.

The app has no advertising. Nvidia certainly ordered it. I don't see anyone making a nonprofit app.

OK, just tried it myself and it has the same Prime Video protection problem.

EDIT: Uninstalled it as it messed with the volume controls.

I'm not sure that's true. The dev has posted at avsforum. Seemed like he made it because he wanted the features for himself.

There could be more to it but didn't seem like it.

Lol you are using a non profit app that is kodi itself and think no one would make a nonprofit app.

Lol. But kodi is not unique to a single brand. this app is exclusive to Nvidia shield TV.
What would be the purpose of not working on other brands?

With the 18.5 update I can not change the audio output device setting to android raw or EAC 3 or change audio pass through. I can change all the other settings such as number of speakers 7.1 and the codecs that my Samsung soundbar HW-K180 supports with wireless rear speakers and that supports Dolby Atmos. But, with 18.5 I have not been able to get any Dolby Atmos sound through my sound system. Are the setting different for 18.5 or is this a bug between Kodi and the Shield?
Nothing left in my right brain, Nothing right in my left brain :-P

8.0.2 is out which seems to have all the hotfix fixes in it but except for the audio dropout fix which seems to depend on kodi 18.6, and some Samsung sound bar fix.

Honestly though I've no idea why but the audio dropout issue is incredibly rare these days for me. I don't think both shield nor Kodi had any updates and yet I don't notice it that much anymore.

The only real issue I have with Pie right now is after waking up the Shield from sleep it takes a few seconds before I'm able to to control it either with the app or IR. It's more of an annoyance though.

Love the shield 2015 and what nvidia has been doing with it so far. Pass through of all HD audio and streaming app audio all works well. Maybe I might start not liking it once I move to a 4k hdr TV [emoji14] hope thats not the case though.

Its still the best all round for  4k hdr + audio pass through and 4k hdr streaming. But now in 2020 I think you can probably get 2 specialist devices that work better. 1 for 4k streaming and another for playing your 4k blueray rips with full audio passthrough for cheaper or at least similar price.

Always been thinking of getting an apple TV 4k for streaming and odroid for kodi.
It just might happen once I move to HDR TV q3 this year. Waiting for the CX OLED to launch n drop in price [emoji14]

Using something like X-plore navigate to /storage/emulated/0/Android/data/org.xbmc.kodi/files/.kodi and rename .kodi to .kodi_backup and then restart Kodi. That way you'll have your old data backed up.

Then I tried that, but stil the same happens.

No permission to write to your storage. Fix the permissions properly.
First decide what functions / features you expect from a system. Then decide for the hardware. Don't waste your money on crap.
