I have had a mostly hate affair with CEC after I added the Pulse-Eight to the NUC - 12+ months ago. (It works Well (ish) between the AppleTV4K, Sony STR-DN1040 AVR, Panasonic Viera 50 Plasma)

I fixed the script.json-cec so that it is compatible with Matrix, and have been trying to debug what CEC actual does/how it works within Kodi. I turned on debug and component debug, with #0511 but weren’t getting the logs showing any CEC data actually being transmitted/received. CEC was being sent by the Kodi though. 

1. Put the movie on pause, 2. Turn off the Amp manually, 3. Amp turns back on, 4. Unhappy ....
1. Put the movie on pause, 2. Change amp to video1 (appletv), 3. Amp turns back to DVD (Kodi), 4. Unhappy ....

so I have experimented tonight. And CEC seems to be completely not engaging with the AVR. Though the logs show messages both ways. I.e. the examples above are not failing (or doing anything). I tried to play the movie whilst the amp was off / or on appletv, no switch back either.

if there is something that I’m blatantly missing/got wrong in the CEC add on, a nudge in the right direction would be great. I’ll start looking at the actual codes being CEC transmitted and received and try and work out what they are doing in the mean time.

@Milhouse Maybe my post was not really helpful. Here's a debug log with the verbose logging for the database component enabled:

The system aboslutely freezes for several minutes when you open a movie or TV show, select an actor and press enter to search for other movies or shows the actor participated in. All the counters being displayed while debugging stop.

Any help would be appreciated, thank you in advance.

The database changes in #0511 seem to have both messed up the actor searching and caused the double listing of tv show actors after the refresh of episode details which I reported here:

Just tried the latest build, I'm new to this so not tried any previous builds other than the official releases.
Autocomplete didn't work for me in the keyboard.

in script.module.autocompletion > lib > AutoCompletion.py
I had to change the line 69:
    if i > self.limit:
to:
    if int(i) > int(self.limit):

To get this working like it does in the official releases.

Maybe a Python3 issue - you should report it to the add-on maintainer (or send him a fix).

Hi Milhouse,

I just updated to the latest build (#0609) and its causing my device to immediately resuming after sleeping. I returned back to #601 and it resolves the issue.
I have a few other devices and these do not suffer the same issue with #609, I expect its a hardware incompatibility with the latest 5.7.0 kernel and this specific device. 

Does a log help with this or do you need the dmesg output to take a look?
