WIP Ember Media Manager 1.9.x - Download & Discussion Thread
On https://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid=319703 one reads

3. To sync the movieset artworks with Kodi over the Kodi Interface you have to set the movieset artwork path also in the Kodi Interface Host settings.
Caution: The path must be entered so that Kodi can find it. In most cases, the path must start with "smb: //" (or "nfs://","ftp://", "webdav://" or any other Kodi supported protocol, depending on your setting), especially if you are using MySQL.
Also, the capitalization must be correct when using Kodi on Linux.

Question is: where on the Kodi interface should one enter the MovieSet artwork path?
Could not find any specific place.

My Ember Log
Hello
I want to load movies with NFO files created by Tiny Media Manager but don't load rare Data from them. What should I do - how to set up Ember to read it ?

Are only parts of the NFO not loaded or is the complete NFO ignored? Unfortunately, most of the other managers ignore XML rules such as:
  • an Integer value can not be empty like <top250></top250> (has to be <top250>0</top250> or non-existent)
  • Boolean has to be <locked>yes</locked> instead of <locked>YES</locked>
Ember cannot read faulty NFOs.
It doesn't read any information as if it doesn't recognize NFO.
NFO example:

xml:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" standalone="yes"?>

Having trouble where to turn https://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid...pid2960802
One HTPC Windows 7 pro 64x running WMC with 2 HDhomeRun on Comcast 6 tuners with MCEbuddy
WD MyCloud 24TB over Netgear network | 6500 movies and 40,000+ TV Show episodes
Hi,
I am running on 1.5.0, and am encountering the following errors:
On certain tv shows (movies do not seem to have this problem) I get the eror that the path is no longer available, even if it has just scanned the file and, yes, it IS available if I browse there...
I created a new folder for the show, but the results are the same.... Other shows in the same folder do not have this problem? It somehow seems a EMM issue (TVshows are not as developed as Movies IMHO)
Thanks in advance,
Erwin Leetink

You should do that before you've startet the new installed Ember because than the profiles folder isn't existing. As always don't install Ember under Program Files because of the right issues with some kind of Windows user rights.

I just installed 1.5.0 to Program Files (Win10) because I didn't want to overwrite my old 1.4.8 directory just yet and I've never seen the warning above.  I copied my profile & temp folders over, but the program didn't work correctly until I added 'Authenticated Users' with all but Full & Special permissions to the install folder.  This was not inherited from the parent directory, but it was granted to the old C:\EMM Beta folder so I manually granted it.  You might experiment with this and it may be possible to add this to your installer so that future versions can be installed in the standard location.

(Example TV shows are American horror story, Westworld or the sinner)

Question: Why are you scraping with EMM and then scraping with Kodi?  Once EMM creates the nfo you shouldn't need to scrape the files again.  Just tell Kodi to use the local nfo file and either update manually or on a schedule.  I have completely turned off Kodi's scrapers for each of my media directories.
Hi there! Very general question for you folks. I use Emby as a server. It seems to grab things like fanart when a new file is detected. I'm about to start (again, after about 5 years off) using Kodi as a frontend. Will something like EMM enhance my Kodi experience, or is Emby doing basically everything I need?
Are we going to see a new version this year?
Just asking Huh
Kodi 21 Omega (Aeon MQ 9 Mod) running on Nvidia Shield Pro
I'm having issues with trailer scraping. I disabled Dave's already but YouTube won't parse. Assume this just needs an update with the plugin. Thanks for all the work, Dan.

Emby is doing essential the same thing on its own (though there are some settings you can play with in it that can make it act a bit differently).  EMM is really more if you want to be able to manipulate your media NFO and related files like artwork outside of your primary library/player program.

Personally I use it so I can choose my artwork and lock everything in manually.  I really don't like the auto artwork that Kodi, Emby and all the others choose on their own.
