Movies Thumbnails/Artwork are gone
#1
Hi,

I must have messed up something while reorging my movies library: none of the movies' images/thumbnails/artwork are showing up anymore. This is how it shows no matter what skin I use -> https://photos.app.goo.gl/7Gi7DiRZCGmc89iM8

I executed the following steps from the page: https://kodi.wiki/view/Artwork/Cache#Adv...tures13.db
Quote:Exit Kodi
Delete texturesxx.db located in the \userdata\database\ folder.
Delete the Thumbnails directory located at \userdata\ which stores all the cached images,
Once the above steps are performed
Restart Kodi
Kodi will automatically rebuild the Textures database and repopulate the Thumbnails cache as the images are displayed in the GUI or other Kodi interface.
After that I removed all my sources, cleaned up my libraries, restarted Kodi, added the sources and ran the scrapper again. It still does not show the images. Is there a way to force Kodi to re-download all the images again?

   Debug log file: https://paste.kodi.tv/iyujuniyet

I am using the latest Kodi 18 version available in Google Play on the latest NVidia Shield 2015 running its latest firmware version

Thanks for the help!

Same here. Latest Kodi 19 on Fire TV. All thumbnails, posters, fanart for movies are „black“, Info to movie okay.

I have the same problem. I added some movies and the thumbnails came up blank on my Kodi 18.8 on Firestick. Attempted to add a few more movies with same result - empty thumbnails. Movies will play OK, just not display.

After a few hours of trying to fix the problem, I just decided to uninstall Kodi 18.6 on my Firestick and installed Kodi 18.8. Unfortunately, now none of my movie thumbnails will display. When I add new movies to the Kodi Movie folder, they too are just blank thumbnails.

I have been a long time user of Kodi, but never seen this problem till now. Hope someone knows what happened and how to fix it.

In trying to determine the problem, if I click on the blank thumbnail of the movie, it comes up with the info screen and all the actors thumbnails are also all empty. For example, I click on the movie "Forrest Gump" which has a blank thumbnail for the movie, and the info screen for the movie has the blank placeholder (the black and white silhouette of a person) for all the actors. Again, this is running a new install Kodi 18.8 on Firestick after Kodi 18.6 started having this same problem sometime last night.

I thought uninstalling Kodi 18.6 and upgrading to Kodi 18.8 on the FireStick would have forced everything to go out and redownload the thumbnails, but in my case, it only made matters worse and now none of my movie thumbnails are displaying.

I really hope it does not require a installation from scratch to solve this problem. I have Kodi installed in the main Android Profile and on Restricted Android Profile. On each Android profile I have a Kodi admin and a Kodi regular user profiles with different configuration and skins settings for each profile. I really hope I never need to set that up again, is too much work!

Lets wait for the experts to look at the debug log and provide a solution which I hope would be simple Smile

I am so glad that I am not the only one having this issue.

So I have this problem also on my Fire TV 3rd gen running the newest 18.8 Kodi.  I just went to scan some new movies into the library and the scraper grabbed all the correct info as far as the movie summary and directors and such but NO graphics.  My old poster art was all fine so I assumed I was out of space on my FTV and moved all my artwork to the sd card, this did not fix my issue.

Upon further looking into each movie under CHOOSE ART, then poster, there are no thumbs showing up.  This is also the issue on my movies that I already had working with art... there are no other options for poster art.  I went into my addons and refreshed the scraper addon but that didnt help.

So the issue is the scraper basically works but no artwork.  This may be a widespread issue.

Same issue here, just bought the new Google TV dongle, installed Kodi, set everything up as normal, no cover art, thumbnails or anything. Everything else seems to work fine.

I've been doing some network configuration and thought I'd broken my own stuff somehow.
Went to the length of uninstalling and reinstalling.
So "glad" it's a generalised scraping issue.

From the logfile posted you can see the image is there http://image.tmdb.org/t/p/original/aQvJ5...LJCEaQ.jpg

Also, the log file states ERROR: CCurlFile::Stat - Failed: Failure when receiving data from the peer(56) which is the same issue that has been said be a cloudflare issue with m3u files, see here https://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid...pid2981889

So maybe tmdb is being hit with this Cloudflare issue, maybe it will 'fix itself' at some point, or perhaps somebody should report it to them, I don't know.

The ticket says "resolved" - does it mean we have to try again? Would you guys tell me the steps I should perform? Thanks.

If you delete textures.db & Thumbnails folder and reboot that should tell you if it's working. The thumbs should hopefully repopulate on boot.

That's not really surprising, probably best to wait until tomorrow as there are all kinds of DNS/Cache type things which will no doubt delay any fix reaching end-users immediately.
