Use makemkv and create a remux.

Use this one instead, has a bigger buffer:

You don't need to change any settings for it to work.
I installed this version on my Nvidia Shield Pro, 2019 version. It's connected to my Denon receiver and my LG CX TV. I get Dolby Vision. So that's a success. However when I play the "P5_Dolby_Amaze" demo I definitely see the micro stutter that others have mentioned. It plays smoothly in Plex.

So sadly it's probably not quite there yet.

get sure you disabled the ip/scaler and enable hdmi 4k passthrough, video processing on denon should be complete disabled
@fandangos I see Kodi 19 have reached RC1. Is there a posibility you will do builds based on the major milestones? (RC's and stable i mean) until your great work hopefully gets included in the early Kodi 20 builds Smile
Sure, I'll look into that as soon as free time allows.

Which issue do you mean? The faulty start or wrong colors?

Sorry, saw late - faulty start / spinning wheel. Haven't tried the new builds since last week - will try the latest build tonight.

Thanks! One thing: After upgrading, it is asking me to enable a shitload of plugins i don't recall ever using, mostly sound encoders/decoders. Not sure if this is a RC1 general thing, or something in your build? Works fine after clicking yes/no anyway though Smile

It's not my doing.

I just enabled the ones I need.
If you miss any you can enable those under settings - addons - all.

I believe this is a security feature to avoid having broken addons.

Thanks, but that download link is not working for me? Tried three different browsers on two different computers.

Never mind, must have been a temporary hiccup at mega.nz.
Does Kodi19DV-RC1-64bits overwrite Kodi19DV-Shield-Workaround-WaitBuffer?
Yes, same package name.
Awesome job fandangos, now I wonder if Kodi team is going to evaluate its inclusion, after further revision, of course on R20, because I already lose any hope on R19 Big Grin
This isn't part of ffmpeg.
Kodi uses ffmpeg.

When ffmpeg team adds dolby vision mkv support I think this has any chance to be merged.

It's not in team kodi's hands.
I have compiled a 32bits version but it's untested.

I'll add it to the same post to avoid loosing it in different posts:

Link to both versions in this post here:

Build works fine, can't speak about the Dolby Vision since it doesn't work for me either way.

Oh, yeah, are you using a fire stick?
Have you ever figured out what is needed for it?

Maybe it's just a matter of figuring the right decoder name.
