I think most people didnt see this ... but i am extreme sensetive for this.
Why would someone who is "extreme sensetive" want to use a graphics card that does not have enough memory to keep all decoding surfaces loaded in memory at same time?

Because its the only Card fits in my fanless HTPC and make no noise (low Profile, passiv cooling, HDMI 2.0) ... if there someday a new Card with better hardware and also Low Profile and passiv cooling -> yes ... maybe some day i change the complete Hardware (Mainboard, CPU, RAM, Graphics Card or Internal Graphics) .. but now i'm using Kodi with External Player ... works !

And i am using the hardware and software for years without playback problems (Kodi 17.6 DSPlayer and madVR) but no future development... problems coming after switching to Kodi 19.1 with internal Videoplayer

Lovely, that's the prime reason for this capability and in your case ... works!

Take this as notice that the future with this hardware may not be so bright.

I'm coming from Kodi 17.6 with DSPlayer and madVR. Everything running smooth... but no future development (still Kodi 17.6)
Now testing Kodi 19.1, but the Videoplayback is not stutter-free with the internal Videoplayer.
Autoframerate-Switch is enabled (On Start/Stop) and working (correct Hz).
Rendermethod is "Pixelshader" and Kodi Fullscreen-Window enabled ... with "Auto" or "DXVA" or Kodi-Fullscreen-Window disabled -> only Blackscreen with 4KHDR Content (Audio normal)
HW-Decoder enabled. HDR/SDR Switch working.
With External-Player (MPC-HC with madVR) enabled with Kodi 19.1 -> everything running smooth again.
Kodi is running  on Windows 10 20H2 with a NVidia Geforce 1030 (2GB VRAM).

Is there any Solution running Kodi 19.1 without External Player (Stutter-free) ?

Have you added the appropriate resolutions/refresh rates you want to the white list?

Yes.

hi, i have a gtx1030, ddr5 card, dell xps8500, 6gb ram and also had problems. I had tearing and stutters until I figured out only use one monitor at a time. i am using a jvc projector 1080p (24hz) and pc monitor ( which can't do 24hz, only 60hz). Try windows+p and change to only TV/Projector only and see if that solves the problem.

Nice tip, especially if the monitors have different cycle, and resolutions. No point in filling up limited gfx memory with odd frames not to mention the burden on the gfx processor.

There is only one device connected. (HTPC -> AV-Receiver -> TV)

Just wanted to chime in. I have the same problems with 4k HDR content stuttering randomly. 4k SDR is ok along with pretty much anything else..... something definitely is broken in kodi 19. I had no problems with 17.6 or with other players.

6700k + 2070 Super tested on clean install
