New structure movie set (sagas) in Kodi 19
#1
Hello everyone!!

I am new to the forum and I have some questions.

-The new file structure of the sagas ... is it final?

-Why this change?

Before I just had to copy the folder to a USB and take it to another Kodi on another device (RBPi 4 or another) ... plug it in ... and I already had everything ... now with the new structure you can't

-Wouldn't it be easier to have all the files in the same folder?

For example:

H:\Movies....................................<source folder>
|
\---Matrix - Collection (1999-2003)...................................<saga folders>
    |   Matrix - Collection (1999-2003)-banner.jpg

Yes it is for v19 and later. You can read more about it here... https://kodi.wiki/view/Movie_set_information_folder

No.

You make the assumption that everybody uses movie set folders that contain the movies for the set.
I have movie set folders, but not for all my sets.

Even with the setup you outline in your post, Kodi never worked with that setup. I guess you were using an add-on to make it work.
The new method requires no additional add-ons.

Hi...

This structure was a suggestion in case it was not yet final

Now I use Librelec with Leia 18.9 and AEON Silvo 7.0.9 in RBPi 4 ... with movieset - *. jpg inside the movies folder

Why does the new sagas folder have to have write permissions if I only use "local information only"?

Thanks

I don't know. It depends on what other add-ons you are using. Where do you see the message that it needs write permission? Does it matter that you give write permission?

Hi...

RBPi4 with folders in PC

My addons are (from Skin AEON NOX Silvo help)
 Skin Shortcuts
 Library Data Provider
 Images Record Labels White
 Images Studios White
 Skin Info Service
 CU LRC Lyrics
 Colorbox Script
 Image Resource Select Addon
 Grab Fanart

From repositories official Kodi and LibreELEC (I don have other)
 addon programs
  Global Search

 addons video
  Missing Movies
  Youtube

When I select the folder in the Menu ... a message appears on the screen saying to select a valid folder and so on until I change the permissions, all other folders are in read mode and I have no problem

For me ... yes ... it is a problem ... I never give permission to write from external devices on my PC (for security)

By the way...
How do I change the date and time from if I don't have internet?

In Regional Menu I only view Unit Formats

Now I use  "date" command from SSH...but when I reboot it gets lost

Thanks

The time and date comes from the underlying operating system, not from Kodi. I don't know how to change it in Android or on a RPi, maybe @Klojum or @DarrenHill know, or just do a google search.

As for the other issue, I will need a Debug Log that captures the message you see.

Hi...

I use Raspberry Pi 4 and I have no battery to save time ... when reboot ... it uses the same time settings of the last system installation

Could you have a new menu option to configure manually without requiring additional plugins or internet connection?

Now I don't have it here and it can't make a log ... tomorrow I install LibreELEC-RPi4.arm-9.95.4 again and do it

Thanks

Raspberry Pi devices do not have something like a CMOS battery (although there are hardware extensions for that IIRC) to keep things like a system timestamp in BIOS memory/firmware. LibreELEC uses NTP time servers to request the current date/time at boot time, but that requires an internet connection. Manually you can set the timestamp via a remote SSH connection, but that also requires some type of network connection...

Hi...

Yes...using SSH...but when I reboot it gets lost
Code:
date --set "2021-08-23 08:30"
Now I live in the country and I don't have internet for now

But I think I have solved the time problem by creating an NTP server on the PC

I only need to test from the RBPi...but if I didn't have a pc I couldn't do it

In regional menu options...one option more to configure manually...could be possible?

Thanks

You can also pick up a simple and small real time clock (RTC) board for the Pi. Then you set the time once (manually or via the internet) and it will keep it going from then onwards.

I have one on my travelling LE Pi, and it works fine. Cost less than $5.

Which exact folder is Kodi trying to write to?
Doublecheck the user permissions on the Windows "server" folders of the Windows user involved.

If it's a directly connected USB disk to the RPi, what is the disk format of the USB drive?

If you're trying to write to it, you'll need write permissions too
