v19 Artwork Dump - download scraper provided artwork
(2021-07-26, 17:50)junitodx Wrote: Not sure if this was answered but I read through the entire thread twice and couldn't see it.

Is AD supposed to add ALL available art to the media folder? I was hoping it would just add the specific art I selected when the media was scraped. So one poster. one fanart, etc. Instead I ran AD against my existing library and now a lot of my folders have 10 posters, 20 fanarts, etc. In a large library having 30 or 40 pics you will never use in every single folder can chew up GBs quick.10.1.3

Dude... check the settings of AD. Thats all u have to Do. Specify the types of artwork you Want to add by highlighting them. And be aware of the "Additional artwork option". If u choose 0, then it will only add 1 artwork IF its missing. So if there is no fanart, it will Download one. If you choose 2, then it will add 2 addtional fanarts so that you have 3 in sum. Got it? Yep, that's exactly how I had it before I ran AD and it still is adding tons of artwork to the folders:

Remove Episode from selection. I have 15k eposodes. Would be a Problem for me through. But can you Show a pic of the content of one of your Series or one of your Movies? Wanna know how much is downloaded really

Sure, here is an example. You can ignore the folder.jpg that and the actual MKV are the only two files that were in the folder already.  The additional 25 files were added by AD

Hmmm, the addon is doing something it is not coded to do. I think there is something else at play here. Especially as the timestamps of the image files don't all match up.

What is your workflow? You scrape a movie and then AD runs after the scrape and downloads the images?

If you can replicate that issue, we will need a Debug Log to see what is happening.

AD doesn't download anything with the name of the movie preceding the type of artwork it is... at least in the years I've been using it.  If AD is downloading and then uploading that artwork to your movie folders in multiples of everything instead of the singles you desire, check your advancedsettings.xml isn't overriding with code that conflicts with the add-on setup.  And I agree, some of your timestamps show existing artwork was retained when replacement artwork was added so something is awry with your workflow.

I take that back, there is an AD setting 'Save movie artwork with movie base file name' but I don't use it.

Here are settings I use that are problem free for me in conjunction with 'Update library on startup' Kodi/Media setting:

Yeah I noticed that as well. Even more odd is that some of the timestamps are dates before the actual movie file.

In this particular instance I finally decided to upgrade to kodi 19, because i didn't want to lose Artwork Beef funny enough. After upgrading I installed AD and made sure the additional fanart option was set to 0, as you mentioned in a previous post, specifically because I didn't want a ton of unwanted pics to be saved locally. Once i was done I went to Programs and chose to update my whole library:

Ok, so why did you run that option which specifically says it will download existing artwork? What were your expectations?

I think maybe a little bit of confusion with what this (new) add-on does. This add-on simply downloads scraped artwork to local folders. Artwork scraping is done by the scrapers.

Yeah, maybe you are right. What I expected, most likely incorrectly, was that it would detect what item I chose for each category when scraping and save just that locally so it would not be lost in the event that the image is removed from the remote location which tends to happen when there are mass purges on TMDB. So using Thor Ragnarok above for example. I though I would scrape it with UMS, choose one poster, one fanart, one clearart, etc Once that is done I would then run AD and it saves just those images that i have chosen locally as opposed to every single image available for that movie.

That's also why I was surprised that is saved 11 fanarts when I set the slider to zero. Also, it can't be saving all the available art since it saved 11 fanarts for Ragnarok when there are 40 just on TMDB, let alone if you add the ones that are on fanart.tv

Right. Well that is exactly what should happen.

If you can replicate that issue, capture it in a Debug Log and post to Kodi Paste Site and we can check it out.

== Edit ==
I just tested Thor using UMS and AD and could not replicate the issue. This is what I experienced...
14 Artwork downloaded. 7 Shown in the image. The other 7 ended up in the Movie Set folder.

Yeah I have no idea what it happening. I deleted all 40k/10GB worth of images that AD download and ran it again. This time it looks like some folders were again populated with too many images and others were outright skipped. Does AD cache the previous runs somewhere?
Also, it may have absolutely nothing to do with my issue, but I saw a ton of warnings from I am guessing UMS?

Nothing to do with your issue.

How big is the log. Kodi Paste Site can accept approx 15,000 lines of a log. Try splitting it in two and provide both links.

Thanks. In this log I can see Back to the Future III on Line 7300 with multiple fanart, keyart and poster being downloaded.
This is coming from your Kodi database.
How did you initially scan this movie into your library?
When you scanned this movie, did you have local artwork in the folder which, maybe at a later stage, you deleted?

At this stage, I believe this is not an Artwork Dump issue, it comes down to what you did when you scanned the movie(s) into your library, because to me it looks like you scanned a whole heap of local artwork along with the movie, which you have then gone and deleted. So now Artwork Dump is simply trying to replace it.

There is no Kodi function or any addon that will create all those multiple posters, keyarts, clearart and clearlogos with that type of file naming. That is all user-created.

Probably best to clear out all those errors also. Follow this guide here... https://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid...pid2983546
But do it for UMS. Once you clear it out, you will need to adjust your settings again.

There is no art in my folders probably 99% of the time when I add them. The only time there is art in the individual movie folders is if after I scrape it I don't like the remote options so I might add local art after that. Normally it's just a folder.jpg
So does that mean that even if I delete all the art in a movie folder, don't re-scrape the movie, choose remote art and then run AD it will still try to replace art that has been deleted?
