v19 Artwork Dump - download scraper provided artwork
(2021-07-27, 21:50)junitodx Wrote: Normally it's just a folder.jpg
folder.jpg is not used by Kodi.

(2021-07-27, 21:50)junitodx Wrote: So does that mean that even if I delete all the art in a movie folder, don't re-scrape the movie, choose remote art and then run AD it will still try to replace art that has been deleted?
If I understand this correctly, then Yes. It all comes down what has been scanned/scraped into the database.

Can you test this and capture it in a Debug Log.
  1. Delete Back to the Future III from your library.
  2. Run a Clean Library
  3. Ensure no artwork is in the movie folder for that movie
  4. Scrape the movie back into your library.
  5. What artwork did AD download?

But do it for UMS. Once you clear it out, you will need to adjust your settings again.
When I do this it says start Kodi , go to your source and change scrapers. Do I need to do this for every single movie source or do I do it on just one to reset the scraper settings in general?

This is a fix per Source. So you need to do it on every Source that is using UMS as the scraper.

You are not scraping anything. You are not scanning for new movies, or deleting any movies. All you are doing is clearing out from the database the old settings.

Ok, I did that and it worked. My initial startup log went from thousands of lines to just 400. Just an FYI, if you change the settings for UMS on the add-on itself, before you start flipping the scraper back and forth on each source, it will pick up the new default UMS setting you chose. Then you won't have to update the UMS settings individually on each source. Unless you want a specific source to have different setting of course.

I'll get that debug log now that my kodi.log won't be the size of War and Peace.

OK, it looks like it worked for the specific movie after I followed your steps. Sorry I still had to split the logs because I had a ton of errors but I think that was because I turned on Allow Remote Control via HTTP. I turned it off after I saw all the errors and I don't have them anymore.

aminizedoq.kodi (paste)

ogawuhifan.kodi (paste)

So does this mean for AD to work properly for me I would need to delete any existing artwork, clean my library and then rescan every movie. As you saw from my previous log file that's a LOT of work

Also, I still think data from previous runs might be cached or saved somewhere. The reason I say this is because I made a separate directory for the collection fanart, like you're supposed to, and when I first ran AD it populated. I emptied out the entire folder but it never fills up again in subsequent runs of AD. However when I removed all three Nolan Batman movies from my library and re-scraped them then it created a folder for the collection art in my designated directory

Something else I noticed, and maybe this is more of an enhancement request, but when you have AD set to process upon new library item it starts up a second or two after a new movie is scraped. So it will save all the art that was automatically selected by the scraper. For some movies there are over 100 posters to choose from. So if you choose to change some artwork and then rerun AD for your whole library, even with overwrite exiting artwork files selected, it will still keep the original art. Maybe a context menu item to update saved art by AD would help?

Yep. After your comment I updated that instruction post.

You have some other errors, but I don't really know where they are coming from. I have not seen them before.

Oh, wait. You also have Artwork Beef installed. How on Earth did you manage that? It should not be possible to install Artwork Beef in v19, so I guess you have done a bit of fiddling Smile
Best that you uninstall Artwork Beef.

I am wondering if there is some clash between Artwork Beef and Artwork Dump that may have led to your issues, but I don't see how. But I am not the addon developer, only @rmrector would know.

Hmm, I'd like to say Yes, but now with Artwork Beef being thrown into the mix, I wonder if deleting Artwork Beef may fix the issue. If it doesn't, then you will need to clear out the existing artwork links (which I still have no idea where they came from) by rescraping.

Yes, a record of previous runs is cached. I think it is in the \Userdata\addon_data\ folder.

Yep, that would be one for the developer- @rmrector
I think someone has mentioned that previously.

Ha, if I had even remotely that level of skill. i believe it was tweaked for Matrix by beatmasterrs for his Arctic: Zephyr - Reloaded skin

Artwork Beef was never designed to run on Kodi 19, so there is no telling what has been done to your library. Additionally, Artwork Dump and Artwork Beef are not designed to run together.

It looks like Artwork Beef was previously run with all settings cranked up, and all of those links are in your database. The best solution is to refresh all items in your library, but running Artwork Beef from Program Add-ons provides a menu option "Remove artwork for media type …" that may help.

When Artwork Dump downloads an image, it points Kodi to the new location, just as if Kodi had scanned the library with that image file already in the file system. There is no longer a remote link to download on the second run. Don't delete artwork just to redownload it.

Check your file system, "overwrite existing artwork files" works as expected here. The way Kodi caches textures means that it doesn't always reflect changes immediately - it can take 24 hours to show up in the GUI.

First and foremost, THANK YOU (!) for the work you put into Artwork Dump.  It is something I have come to depend on for easily getting artwork stored locally.

I have had a consistent error when Artwork Dump is running.  LOG File  <-- Here are 2 separate snippets from 2 separate times the error has occurred.  This error has happened a lot -- these are the 2 times I managed to capture it in the walls of logfile debug text.  Both times involved Artwork Dump checking for new artwork URLs from newly added movies.  In order to get Artwork Dump to successfully run after erroring out, I need to disable Artwork Dump inside Kodi (via the addon menu), shtudown Kodi, restart Kodi, and then re-enable Artwork Dump again (via the addon menu).  If I don't disable it first, it simply won't run upon Kodi restarting again and will error out again the with the same error included in the log file.

Thanks in advance for any help or pointers you can provide.  If the information above is not sufficient, I am more than happy to supplement as needed.

Just as a follow-up to my above post, your recent fix seems to have eliminated the crash.  Thank you!

Code:
v0.2.2 (2021-08-01)
- fix: don't crash when processing empty list- fix: start auto processing music after library scan
- fix: processing albums split across multiple folders
- fix: don't leave last message on progress bar

Hi all,

scratching my head with this one.

On Leia all collections had posters, clearart, clearlog etc.

Just ran Artwork Dump on the first quarter of my new Matrix install - it went through smoothly and processed 6011 Movies, 2064 TV Shows ( xxx number of episodes) and 584 collections

The 584 Collections are the problem, some are complete many are missing posters, clearart, clearlogo

Sample of log-file (79,198 lines) reads

2021-09-07 16:43:29.408 T:6660    DEBUG <general>: [script.artwork.dump] Processing set '3 Men Collection' automatically.
2021-09-07 16:43:30.136 T:6660    DEBUG <general>: [script.artwork.dump] Processing set '28 Days/Weeks Later Collection' automatically.

2021-09-07 16:43:30.266 T:6660    DEBUG <general>: [script.artwork.dump] Processing set '101 Dalmatians (Live-Action) Collection' automatically.
2021-09-07 16:43:30.268 T:6660    DEBUG <general>: [script.artwork.dump] Processing set '300 Collection' automatically.
2021-09-07 16:43:30.341 T:6660    DEBUG <general>: [script.artwork.dump] Processing set 'A Christmas Story Collection' automatically.
2021-09-07 16:43:30.404 T:6660    DEBUG <general>: [script.artwork.dump] Processing set 'A Fixer Upper Mystery Collection' automatically.
2021-09-07 16:43:30.406 T:6660    DEBUG <general>: [script.artwork.dump] Processing set 'A Goofy Movie Collection' automatically.

My question I thought Matrix used MSIF so where are the records/art that were processed?

Hi all,

Question: Why is AD always updating artwork? If I update my library and there is just one new episode added, AD scans everything in my library over and over. Sometimes I don't even have to run an update, but it just starts scanning. Is this normal behavior of the addon. If not, I'll provide my logs.

Thanks,

Shedrock

What do you mean?

Artwork Dump runs after a library update to check for new artwork if you configure it to. It has to look for changes, but it shouldn't actually be updating anything unless there is a change.

A log never harms the situation.
