Am I suppose set up permission for Artwork Dump.

Yes, permissions need to be configured so that Artwork Dump / Kodi can save files.

Sorry if this has been replied already , i have the same problem on a firestick 4k with kodi 19.3 and an USB for storage , Artwork cant save files error every time i use it , where can i set the permissions ??

Thank you very much, I will try it later. I used kodi version 18, and with version 19 I saw that it didn't work for me to be able to download covers with artwork beef.

Problem solved , on this case , with a Fire stick tv 4k , seems the problem is android /Kodi writing to USB /SDcard storage , the only way i could make it work was placing my movies / series folders at this path /storage/[your USB or_SDCard]/Android/data/org.xbmc.kodi/Movies

Folders must be within Kodi's own environment

Hi, first thanks for bring this addon forward to Nexus...

I just have one question, it does not download 'artist' thumbs (1:1) ,which i think is the default artwork for artist. (therefor i did not set it upo in advancedsettings).



Even when i try to set it up artist artwork types via addon settings , i can just multiselect : banner,clearart,clearlogo,landscape,fanart.
And therefore it just not get the possibility to download  chached/scraped thumbs/square artwork to local filesystem (~artist information folder|artist folder).

Is there something i am missing ?
Was there some recent change,which lead to move away from 1:1 fanart as default artist artwork?

The artwork type for that is "thumb". There is a button "Add art type" on the multiselect that you can use to add a new type. Switch to the default / Estuary skin if that button isn't visible.

I'm getting ready to make the jump from version 18 to 19.4 (Matrix). In version 18 Artwork Beef automatically downloaded the clearlogo and automatically installed the clearlogo for my movies and tv shows. Does Artwork Dump do the same thing or does it download the clearlogos and I have to manually go movie by movie, tv show by tv show and manually choose the clearlogo? I'm looking for the best and easiest way to get clearlogos and install them but I'm not sure if Artwork Dump is the easiest way to do this in version 19.4.

Artwork Dump will download the original artwork from the scraper site and save the images locally.
It normally does this during the scraping process, or you can manually run it to download artwork for your entire library.
It is not a scraper. It downloads artwork using links that were scraped during the scraping process.
If you are using nfo files, or have an old, established library, it may not work that well as many of the links may be dead.

Yes, it simply downloads the original artwork that Kodi has cached during the scraping process.
It is not the same as Artwork Beef which was part artwork scraper.

I checked and it worked fine for roughly a hundred movies.

Hi, thanks for the reply, permission issue I can't see how since it worked for roughly 50 titles on the same HDD during the same session.

I will try to free some more space, it wasn't full, the problem now is that when I run Artwork Dump and click on:

download existing artwork for new (or for all) video library items

It doesn't scan the folders of the movies it failed before.
