it works great on Kodi 18 but can't install it on 19/20
Here the add-on https://github.com/primaeval/plugin.video.replay

It would be great ...thanks
Probably won't an easy task, it is writen under Python 2 and as we all know as from Kodi 19 we are moved to Python 3.

Thanks for your reply, Smile I thought it wouldn't be that easy.. perhaps someone with coding expertise can give a look ... Would be nice. Thanks community.

I have the same problem. I've been recording IPTV for many years (I need it for work). Win11. But the strange thing, on a PC has always worked version 19... I remember that there were problems with accounting repo primaeval, but I somehow solved it... I don't remember at all... And then I needed to put another KODI on my laptop, also with win11. I struggled for half a day, I couldn't do it. Had to put the old leila.
And today, all of a sudden, it stopped writing programmatically. In manual mode, no problem. So, I'm sitting here trying to fix it. I put in a newer ffmpeg. Let's see....
About compatibility. The only way out is to write to the repo creator himself. But most likely he stopped supporting the project.

I'll write maybe someone will find it useful. Caught the problem of recording the iptv stream during the progrmming of the record. Recording was formally started at the appointed time in the kodi (19,4) itself, but the file did not appear in the destination (recording folder). I hope I found the reason (though it's strange...). If you programmed recordings and then changed something in the settings the recording breaks. I changed the before-after time. I'm watching it now. It seems to be recording.

Hi, I don´t know if I´m doing wrong, but I add in Kodi Matrix the primaeval repo (from .zip file) but when I search the ITPV Record plugin from repo, is not there. The primaeval repo only shows me this:

Add-on repository...no other categories

Because it's not Kodi 19 or higher (python 3) compatible, so it shows empty.
you can found a updated matrix version in tbrek repo here https://github.com/tbrek/tbrek-kodi-repo...-1.1.0.zip
Or only the add-on zip here
https://github.com/tbrek/tbrek-kodi-repo...-0.7.6.zip

Unfortunately this is the result of a dependency on the python version. If you need an IPTV recorder, use the Leia version. Alas, Mr. primaeval hasn't supported his product for a long time.

Hard to say without the log.

Hi, I have installed the Matrix version of the IPTV Recorder add-on on Kodi 20.1 and it does not work (running on Nvidia Shield). Ffmpeg path (armv7-neon build) is set to the proper directory of the ffmpeg binary and Simple Client is installed and configured (it works), but the addon cannot be loaded (Kodi shows an error message when the addon is launched). Is Kodi 20.1 still supported?

Full debug log: https://paste.kodi.tv/erayevuqid

Thanks for any input.

EDIT: It seems now it works by replacing all the Python function calls xbmc.translatePath with xbmcvfs.translatePath in files default.py and main.py , located on the addon directory (org.xbmc.kodi/files/.kodi/addons/plugin.video.iptv.recorder). I had to do the same with a skin for Matrix. Hope this helps.

Update on this:
Now the addon does not show any error message, but when I try to record anything, the recording finishes in 1 second and the file size is 0. Using ffmpeg precompiled binary for armv7-neon architecture (from the WritingMinds repo) on Nvidia Shield Pro 2017. The ffmpeg file does not have execution permission and I have put it in the same location as the addon binaries.

Full debug log is here: https://paste.kodi.tv/qemikalizo

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Has this project been abandoned? If so, which addon for recording is recommended now?
Thanks

So, I was able to get the updated version installed on LibreELEC Nexus... thanks for that.

ffmpeg tools is an add-on, and I've pointed recorder at ffmpeg.exe.

However, I'm getting a "missing database" error, and a "searching for streams -0%" spinner that persists.

Any suggestions?

Thanks.

So, following up to this, I decided to try this on a second system I have running the Matrix "legacy" version that Chrome will install on. Every time I try to install the updated version directly from the add-on zip file, or the tbrek repository, it causes KODI to restart.

I seem to recall I ran in to something similar when I tried to install the IPTV archiver directly from the zip file, but was able to add it from the repository successfully (or vice-versa)...I seem to beat an impasse getting the updated version to install and/or work...  :/

[ON EDIT] So, in looking at the kodi_crash log, it complains the tbrek .zip files are "not valid zips". Sure enough, when I tried opening them on my PC, I was prompted for next disk in a "multi-volume archive".  That seems to be what caused Kodi to croak.

I downloaded all the files from Github for the add-on and zipped them up, and Kodi happily installed them...

Trying to record now....

The IPTV Recorder addon is no longer updated for Kodi 20, does anyone know a good alternative to another addon that allows you to record TV shows on Kodi?
Thank you in advance for your help !

There is a version of IPTV recorder that will install on 20.0. The problem is after it records it crashes Kodi. There is also IPTV Archive Downloader that I was able to get working with a few code edits. It may work for you.
