Req Kodi on LG Web OS
I have detected two problems in the latest build compatible with webos 4.x,
One is that sometimes the screensaver jumps while you play content,
Two is that when you switch from Kodi to TV, the Kodi sound continues playing in the background, until you open another app or return to Kodi.

@FreeMarco: That is the goal eventually.
@sergio151179: The forum just isn't a great place to share binaries. Also regarding unofficial builds specifically, they lack the option to verify that they do not contain any altered, modified and potentially malicious code. Of course you are free to build your own binaries and share them, but also be aware that you must provide the source code according to the GPL if you make any modifications.

Those bugs are interesting. For the first one, it is possible that the screensaver must be disabled differently on webOS 4 and for the second one we can make the player stop when the app goes to background

The screensaver thing may be an error in the logic within Kodi, but of course I'm not a programmer, I think this because sometimes it jumps and sometimes it doesn't, it usually happens to me with addons that play torrent files, when they empty the buffer and pause the playback, while they load the buffer, later playback continues and the screensaver begins to jump.
I'm going to check if it also happens in other reproductions.

Are there plans to fix the audio sync when not using passthrough + AC3 transcoding?

I've noticed that the passthrough audio has noticeably quieter dialogs (when the TV downmixes/sends PCM) as opposed to having Kodi downmix.
I have 2.0 output, but it probably doesn't affect users who actually can support passthrough.

@quietvoid: I'm not seeing A/V sync issues when using ALSA. Maybe check in your TVs settings if it has some dialog enhancement options

Hi,
on which webOS version do you have Kodi installed?
I have compiled for myself pvr.hts-tvhead client add-on and tested on webOS: 3.5 and webOS: 4.9.7-14.

Hi im on webOS  5.4.3-36

It doesn't. Others and I have already reported this before.

@quietvoid: Still hard to track down if you cannot reproduce it. It's probably the lipsync settings on the TV

With the latest PR23834.ipk, now I can see this dolby vision .mkv file on my 77C9.

Format                                   : HEVC
Format/Info                              : High Efficiency Video Coding
Format profile                           : Main [email protected]@high
HDR format                               : Dolby Vision, Version 1.0, dvhe.07.06, BL+EL+RPU, Blu-ray compatible / SMPTE ST 2086, HDR10 compatible

I think the El layer is displayed because I compared the same video with BL+RPU then I found the picture more vivid.

About A/V Sync problem I set delaying sound playback 450ms to solve.

P.S.: When I use nightly-master. ipk on my 42C2, the same dolby vision .mkv got the picture snowflakes. Some other dolby vision .mkv also with BL+EL+RPU is Ok to display .

I guess. It's not lipsync settings. I use straight optical PCM output and there's no enabled delay.
Don't know if logs would contain anything useful but I might check later.

Couldn't get anything close to sync from adjusting the audio offset in Kodi.

@quietvoid: I have pushed my work on the pcm starfish sink here. However, it has very high latency so it's not recommended to enable GUI sounds. Maybe it improves the situation for you

On my side it's definitely an improvement over status quo.
With the patch I can disable AC3 transcoding and still have in-sync audio.

But there's no difference when passthrough is disabled (or AC3/E-AC3 toggles are), the audio is still out of sync.
This is with the ALSA: Default audio device.

@quietvoid: Maybe I have misunderstood, but that branch should allow you to select starfish from the PCM sinks. It shouldn't have any changes regarding passthrough. Maybe I've misunderstood the second part of your answer though

Ah, well Starfish says Passthrough only for me.
If I use it without enabling passthrough, the audio sync is a lot worse than using ALSA: Default.

So the only way I can get synced audio is by enabling passthrough and the AC3/E-AC3 codecs, regardless of the sink/output device.

@Pienoet
For which Kodi build/version should I compile the “pvr.hts-tvhead” client add-on for it? Kodi version is always in the second line of the kodi.log. Please post.
