I have a ton of shows that do not have episode number in the title, like 5x6 or s05E06.

The scanner seems to go right past them, even though the full title is there.

A previos media center program would failback to a mode where it finds a few words in the title, usually at least one 5 characters or more and does a lookup in the tvdb using 'program name' (folder name) and the pieces from the episode title. It would then rename the program with the season/episode in it.

Does XBMC have any plans to read content for shows without season/episode in the title?

Barring that, can the program be modified to, at least, add the items with exact titles shown into the library under the program name it sees by folder name?

It is very error-prone and highly unreliable to use the title of the episode for lookups, since this can return a lot of crap. It is unlikely that XBMC will provide an option for this, because it is also difficult to implement and to achieve acceptable results.

The best way for you however would be to actually sort your library, as I am not aware of an option to do this in another way.

Then how about my option 2

Put all raw names under the program title
That is the folder name

Library mode is useless if you cant at least, see a video exists

Because xbmc cannot get metadata doesnt mean to ignore it

I know this is like file mode but only for shows missing metadata

This has been discussed at earlier points, please refer to the fitting topic in order to move this discussion. This also is not a problem specific to TV Shows but to all media inside XBMC.
