same issue here with not all folders being visible through smb on ATV1 (reading share on win7 64bit), same culprit: Avast. I updated from v6.0.1000 to v6.0.1120 and it seems to be fixed.

Hi, I registered just to express my thanks to those who figured out this issue. My Macbook and ATV2 both running XBMC were suffering with an inability to discover all folders within an SMB share on my homeserver.

After running the update (to .1125 of avast) smb shares seem to be working correctly once more.

STUPID FREAKING AVAST.

Here I thought I was getting an amazing AntiVirus program, and that it is, but you blew up my media sharing and for that, you get a big. fat. uninstall.

For everyone out there, plese - just uninstall that stupid thing first, and try it.

To note - I had the full "paid" version, so it doesn't matter whether it's free or paid, just FYI. Both suck eggs for this.
