that's an issue in mainline it seems. something appears to go wrong when you the alsa device is initialised. check whether your sound device is (still) set up correctly in system->system->audio output, or ask for help in the non-pvr part of the forum.

Found a problem with PVR? Report it on Trac, under "PVR - core components". Please attach the full debug log.

Thanks for the fast reply - i'll do that.
Is it possible for me to go back to the Dharma version of xbmc-pvr for Natty? I can't see how to do it.

I finally resolved my problem by unsetting both VDPAU and VAAPI hardware acceleration settings in xbmc (settings->video->playback).
