Skip folders from automatic scan?
#1
I've got a lot of TV shows (like 24, Babylon5, Dollhouse etc) that are complete and will never change.

Is there any way of making XBMC skip these folders when doing an automated scan and only scan "active" folders?

Sure, do a 'set content' on individual folders for each of those shows and in the scraper settings set the option to exclude from scanning.

But I just share the whole hard drive. I have a hard drive for TV shows and one for films.

How would I do what you suggest using that setup?

See http://wiki.xbmc.org/index.php?title=Adv...listing.3E

However XBMC doesn't scan folders unless something in them has changed since they were last scanned, so there's no great overhead in just leaving things as they are.

Reason I was asking is it takes 5+ minutes when I start XBMC for all the folders to scan and new movies/tv shows to be added.

I understand that with over 600 movies and 80 tv shows it's going to take some time so I was looking for ways to speed up the process.
