So I have noticed that if I watch a flick, when I return to the dashboard there will be no sound effects as I cycle through menus or individual movies. If I powerdown the system and the restart the machine, sound effects return until I watch the first movie, then nothing again.
Any ideas? Some simple script that I can tie into my stop command from the remote to restart the sound effects?

you could tell is what platform you are running XBMC on, what version of XBMC, and/or give us the XBMC.log file (with debugging on).

All audio is ouputed via HDMI
As for a debug log I will generate one when I get home and post it via pastebin.
