Has anyone tried the new AirPlay commit on the nightly 8.26
#46
Will this work on anything other than an iOS device? I'm running the latest (9-6-11) Nightly Build on my Revo and I'm not seeing XBMC as a target when I go to stream a video from my iPhone or iPad.

Should work on osx and linux aswell. Don't know if the linux nightlys have it activated though...

Just did a little test from iPad. Worked great.

I did notice that it, XBMC, doesn't appear as target airplay device in "airfoil" and "airflick" for example, is this because of limitations streaming only music?

Are you supposed to turn off airplay in ATV directly and only have it enabled in XBMC - does that make a difference?

Many thanks though devs...

It doesn't make a difference - you should see both targets when you leave the native airplay enabled. Though it shows up on AirFlick for MacOSX here. Don't know what the issue is then.

Hmm, it doesn't show in either piece of software, is there anything I should (or what should I) be looking for to troubleshoot? It would be cool to get these straight into XBMC.

Did you activate airplay in network settings in xbmc? "Allow XBMC to receive AirPlay content" ... and if so. Is XBMC and the other software running on the same PC or something strange like that? Well even then it shows up in AirFlick here (both XBMC, and AirFlick on MacOSX) ...

Airplay is the sole reason why I'm contemplating selling my revo and just using my atv2 from here on out. So far, it's worked flawlessly for me. Other than music, I've yet to find anything that I couldn't throw at it and it wouldn't play!

I have airflick and airfoil on my mac. I don't have XBMC on this machine.

I have an ATV2 and an ATV1, both with XBMC and both with the "allow XBMC to receive AirPlay content" checked.

I have iPads (without XBMC) that I can airplay youtube, TED etc to the XBMC service on the ATVs, it is visible and works just fine.
However, XBMC services are not visible from my mac.

Then your mac might have a firewall - rejecting the AirPlay announcment. Or your mac is sitting in a different subnet ...

Whatever it is - your mac doesn't seem to see the announcment in the network ...

The original announcement and the XBMC announcement look same to me. Do you see the native AirPlay target in your osx apps?

It doesn't show up for me too. My iPhone as well as AirFlick on OSX don't see it. In the xbmc log it shows:
Quote:NOTICE: starting zeroconf publishing
ERROR: CZeroconfAvahi::addService(): failed to add service named:XBMC JSONRPC@$(HOSTNAME) type:_xbmc-jsonrpc._tcp port:8080. Error:Invalid Error Code :/ FIXME!
ERROR: AIRPLAY Server: Failed to bind serversocket

Is it a bug or is something wrong with my config? Thanks for any help!

Yes, native shown up.

I have had demo effect to day. Was plaiying YouTube vids though AirPlay on XBMC but it crashed quite a bit after a couple of smoothly played videos. Will to get lofgs for this as it happens again.
