Is this the lowest this case has been in awhile?

I'm not too AMD CPU knowledgeable. Is the AMD Sempron 145 Sargas 2.8GHz for this Zotac board more powerful than the AMD Turion II Neo N40L 1.5GHz 2C that comes with the HP microserver deal at Newegg today? Are there more powerful AMD AM3 CPUs I could choose from for this MB? Or is the Sempron 145 the best? What would be the most powerful "green" option? I'm planning on setting up the UnRAID as an always on Sab/Sickbeard setup to experiment with that.

sempron is enough for unRAID...
but if u plan on using extra stuff on your server like,
addons like SAB/SICK/COUCH, then,
best to go for a DUAL-CORE CPU...
ATHLON X2 250

and yes, at $90 shipped, its the lowest i've ever seen it!
now it the time!

If you do the setup and change it out to a dual core AMD Athlon II X2 250 Regor 3.0GHz Socket AM3 65W it brings the price of this build to $236.95(196.95 after MIR). You could start off with 4 hdds and then add more down the line by adding the sata card from Monoprice listed on the 1st page. That HP deal was a steal that is why it is sold out now. I haven't seen them do the $100 price drop on it ever.

What about this CPU?
Athlon II X2 255 3.1GHz Socket AM3 Boxed Processor
Except I'm not sure if this will take the 800mhz DRAM needed for the motherboard.

Hey guys...since we're on the subject of SFF unRAID.. I need to replace the 2port SATAII PCIe card i currently have for unRAID with a 4port option. i want to add a cache drive and possibly one additional data drive. The MOBO+GPUi I'm using is the same one recommended in this thread ZOTAC GF6100-E-E AM2+/AM2 nForce 430 MCP Mini-ITX.

Ques #1: Is this possible/compatible with unRAID?
Quest#2: If it is possible, which 4port option would be compatible with this MOBO?

.....i dont like problems

An alternative case for this build might be this one -
Lian Li PC-Q25B

The issue with this case seems to be finding a PS that fits the case.

Looks like the board for this build will be on sale today -
http://www.newegg.com/Special/ShellShock...01062012_2 $27.99 after mail-in rebate

But will be lower with the shellshocker deal.

Also the PS unit - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.as...6817139026

Can the 5.25 optical drive bay be used as an additional drive bay resulting in 7 drive capacity? Sorry if this was already mentioned.

You would need something like this to add more than 6 drives http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.as...6816132018
TV: VIZIO E-Series 43”
HTPC: Raspberry Pi 3
STORAGE: Windows 8 Server with DrivePool (Currently with 24TB)

this should work as well right ? http://www.amazon.com/Syba-SATA-RAID-Con...814&sr=1-1

much cheaper

That's a PCI card. You need a PCIe card for the recommended motherboard on this thread.

Ah that makes sense. Why is a 4 port sata pci-e card so much more expensive ?
