Crash after inactivity
#1
Hi all,

I'm getting an issue when playing content from SMB shares on my ATV2. I'll try my best to explain whats going on.

If I open up xbmc, navigate to a share and play a file, its fine.
If that one ends, and I play another straight away, thats fine too.
If I navigate to a file but dont play it immediately, or after one episode has finished and the filelist has returned and then been sat there in an inactive state, when I then try to start another file XBMC will crash out and restart the ATV.
Initially I thought this had to have something to do with the screensaver settings, as it seemed to always happen after the auto-dim had kicked in, but after messing with the settings its happening after a few minutes regardless.

Some details:
Apple TV2 IOS 4.3 (2557)

XBMC PRE-11.0 Git: 20110904-a2098db (compiled 5 sept 2011)

file downloaded from this forum, installed using dpkg -i

Logs:
syslog: http://pastebin.com/iQ149g0W
xbmc.log: http://pastebin.com/p3PmMtCr
crashreporter: http://pastebin.com/JG3Rfhxr

Thanks

I have today updated to xbmc-20110912-ad5b5ce-master-atv2.deb, and still have the same issue.

Also, this does only happen if in the SMB shares lists of any kind. If I go to videos/files and wait 3 minutes, then exiting or selecting any share/folder/file will crash XBMC. If I am in addons (such as Icefilms) this doesnt happen and xbmc wakes up as normal.

I have also noticed that if I am playing a file from an SMB share and pause it, it will restart regardless of how long it is paused for, so if I am in the middle of a film or TV episode and pause for any length of time it will continue to play the file once resumed. It is only when in the file lists that xbmc crashes.

I can supply more logs to show the error since upgrading to 20110912-ad5b5ce if required..

Thanks

I also have heavy crash problems, but I cant really recreate it. Definitely not while playing a movie, more during navigation...

Then don't hi-jack this thread and make your own Smile Title clearly says "Crash after inactivity"
