kernel error on install
#1
installing xmbc live from cd, getting an error about the kernel no matter what i do; install xbmc, boot xbmc in regular/safemode from disk, and even booting the existing OS on the HDD.
both optical drive and HDD are SATA, no usb devices hooked up besides mouse/keyboard.

well... some logs or at least the kernel error you see would help - otherwise this is a pretty vast topic Smile

ill get the individual errors as soon as i can. for now, i remember getting an error about the C/S/H values not being right when trying to boot the existing OS from the HDD. would this be from an incorrect format type? (FAT, or NTSF, as opposed to FAT32)

edit: when attempting to install XBMC live from disk, i get

error: cant find the linux header
error: you need to load the kernel first

issue resolved, turns out it was just a bad burn
