Some TV Shows not showing up in XBMC
#16
That sux. However, again i'm going to ask the obvious. Not to annoy you, but just to confirm because your post isn't clear. Did you do exactly the points I posted?

* When you removed the show from the xbmc library (Don't clean. In xbmc, go to the show, bring up the context library and choose "remove from library")
* Delete all nfos and tbns from the tv show directory in windows
* Update the library in xbmc

Sorry to reiterate.

Similar problem on Frodo, tried all the cures I can find, then started trying to debug.

The following 2 are found
E:\TV Series\Big Bang Theory\Season 1\The Big Bang Theory.S01E10.The Loobenfeld Decay.avi
E:\TV Series\Big Bang Theory\Season 1\The Big Bang Theory.S01E11.The Pancake Batter Anomaly.avi

The rest of the episodes are not, and are named similarly, ie that's all 4 seasons named like this but only those 2 eps found;
E:\TV Series\Big Bang Theory\Season 1\The Big Bang Theory.S01E01.Pilot.avi

Short story: The scraper is not finding an episode number despite it being in the en.zip from thetvdb.com

The en.zip from TheTVDB.com has the following lines that I assume is where epnum is scraped from? (example is S01E01 but is the same for all and same for eps 10 and 11)

Log again;
17:18:18 T:43912 DEBUG: VIDEO::CVideoInfoScanner::OnProcessSeriesFolder - no match for show: 'The Big Bang Theory', season: 1, episode: 1.0, airdate: '01/01/1601', title: ''

Any suggestions? I can't see how this isn't anything other than the scraper failing to read the xml tags needed for episode number.

BTW, using TVDB scraper 1.4.4

I just created the following folders/file in my top-level TV Shows folder and was able to successfully scan the episode to my library:
TV Shows/Big Bang Theory/Season 1/The Big Bang Theory.S01E01.Pilot.avi

Try the following:
  1. On the XBMC homepage, select Videos > Files
  2. Locate and highlight the "Big Bang Theory" folder
  3. Open the context menu ("c" on keyboard or right mouse click)
  4. Select "Change content"
  5. On the "Set content" page, ensure the option "Selected folder contains a single TV show" is enabled.
  6. Click OK to save
  7. Re-open context menu for the "Big Bang Theory" folder and select "Scan for new content"

Tried it, but was already set to single TV show.
Scan found nothing, which should not be the case since it hasn't added all the files;

I also did Information->Refresh to force it and yet again the log shows no epnum for any episodes except 10 and 11.
20:27:02 T:43912 DEBUG: VIDEO::CVideoInfoScanner::OnProcessSeriesFolder - no match for show: 'The Big Bang Theory', season: 1, episode: 1.0, airdate: '01/01/1601', title: ''

It would be nice to see what the scraper is actually doing with the xml, since until the scraper can actually find the epnum that's clearly in the xml it's going to be fruitless.

The series name is missing THE

it is atm according to info posted

tvshowsConfusedmb://SUMBISH/VIDEO/TV Series/Big Bang Theory/Season 1/The Big Bang Theory.S01E10.The Loobenfeld Decay.avi

Should be

tvshowsConfusedmb://SUMBISH/VIDEO/TV Series/The Big Bang Theory/Season 1/The Big Bang Theory.S01E10.The Loobenfeld Decay.avi

That is incorrect, since that episode is found and placed in the library without "the", also according to the wiki 'the' is not required in names which is why I don't have it there. All other scraped data is matched including the name, but the error is that epnum is *not* returned for some TV Shows and in some cases some episodes. I note that 1.4.4 of the scraper is now blacklisted, but 1.4.3 does not do any better. Clearly this is an issue that does not affect everyone (nor every TV Show/episode).

I will post a full log in a sec.

A full log after restart. From the Big Bang Theory folder I also did an 'Information->Refresh'

Suit yourself (I was sharing what I know works), also your regex is a bit unnecessary, I have the series named properly and all works just fine.

I appreciate your help uNi but in this case it's not the problem since the example episode you gave is actually one that works. There are other shows like "Covert Affairs" which are having the same problem, I just haven't mentioned them to keep things simpler. Just to repeat, the show names are being found, that can be seen in the log, in fact all the data is being found except the episode numbers from the scraper, but only in some cases, so seems very unlikely to be any sort of naming error since these are named consistently (were renamed by theRenamer IIRC). I only added the regex because I was hoping that would fix the issue.

I do wonder what this line means;
09:41:19 T:48400 ERROR: PCRE: Match limit reached
as it's right before the scraper returns the episodes list

I also wonder what was wrong with 1.4.4 that caused it to be blacklisted and whether that has left my system in a bad state despite reverting to 1.4.3

Regex dump it... What you describe seems self inflicted by using some regex you dont even need.

But I would name the series tittle exactly as it show up on tvdb anyway. How come you have problems and I dont using same series fake files and all scanned ok without any regex and using proper names.
