Hey all,

I am running an acer aspire r1600 with XBMC live 10.1 installed.

I get smooth playback with all files with the exception of h.264 files that are in an .avi container. These files seem to skip or speed up momentarily every couple of seconds. vdpau is enabled and I get no frames dropped on the files in question.

Does anyone have an idea about what may be going on?

EDIT: The files play fine on my laptop.

All avi files or just the ones that you have? Are they all from the same source? Have you tried remuxing them to see if that fixes the problem? Have you tried them in another container?

It happens with all avi's (that I have tried) that are encoded in h.264. Avi's using other codecs function correctly.

I haven't tried remuxing them or changing the container because they work fine on the laptop. I would prefer to not have to take the time to remux them (I have quite a few and I am incredibly busy in law school). What would cause them to be displayed incorrectly in xbmc yet play fine on vlc?
