I used to have a revo box running ubuntu with version 10 of xbmc. Doing a library update would take approx 1 min.
I upgraded my box to an i3, and switched to windows 7 and using pre-eden xbmc.. Ever since doing the switch a library update takes about 3 minutes.
I have same amount of content (streaming from a nas box).. network is still configured the same.
Any ideo on why a library update is taking so long?
I have about 300 movies and 3000 tv episodes (50 shows) that I have in the library.

its probably grabbing the cast/actor info, but in the grand scheme of things....a three min. scan is still pretty good, just put on your patient hat...

You can always set some shows to be excluded from library updates if they're not ongoing.
