I use XBMC regularly but just recently found the Android remote app. I would love to be able to use it but I can't seem to make it work. I was under the impression that all I needed to enter in the hosts section was the name of the instance, my IP address (which I found @ whatismyip.com ), and the port number (I left this as 8080 because I have no idea what other numbers I could/should use).
In network settings I selected "Allow control of XBMC via HTTP", "Allow programs on this system to control XBMC", and " Allow programs on other systems to control XBMC". Under "port" I also left that as 8080.
When I try to use the remote app I get an error message that reads:
"I/O exception (java.io.FileNotFoundException)
http://XX.XX.XXX.X:8080/xbmcCmds/xbmcHtt...mInfo(120)"
Can anyone help me or show me where the very beginner instructions might be found?
Thanks in advance
