I have my library set to update at startup and I have the notification visibile. This is fine for the videos. The music I'd like to hide. I've done some searching and found a fix for that. But, what I think would make it even better, is if the notification only popped up when it finds any new items and is scanning them to the library. Rather than showing it's progress through every music album on my server, or through each video share.
I may be the only person that would like this. And, who knows, eventually, I may hate the feature. But, it sounds like it'd be less invasive and still give me the satisfaction of seeing the new items as XBMC finds them.
