I'm running a freshly installed openSuse 11.4 w/KDE4 desktop, on a Pentium E6700 Dual Core, 8Gb RAM, ATI Radeon HD5670 and I get a crash (well xbmc quits without any message). Here is my crashlog if anyone could help me please...

is the xbmc user a member of the group video and audio ?

Try turning off vdpau and vaapi in the playback video settings. If that solves it then you need to correctly install the vaapi libraries for hardware decoding on ATI..
